I am so glad we decided on coming here for dinner! Starting off there was a 45 minute wait to get in and just by walking in we could tell this place is obviously popular. They took our phone number so we would notified of when our table was ready through text. We walked around the area for a little... More

I was visiting Gainsville for the first time and this place was recommended to me. Apparently, it is super popular and the wait was super long, so I decided to order something to go. Dissapointing. When I come to the South, I expect and enjoy warmth, hospitality and naiveness. The dudes"here had a kind of "I am too cool for... More

I had dinner at the Top on 7/11/14. I've been dining at the Top since it first opened. The food has always been excellent. However, the attitude of some of the employees has deteriorated to the point I don't care to dine there very often anymore. The young woman working the host stand on the evening of 7/11/14 was extremely... More

Service spotty. Appetizers and entrees came out at same time. Waiter had to take our meals back. There was no room on our table for everything. Waiters all look grungy. But..food is very good. Lots of vegetarian and organic items.Good variety. Will return.

This place never disappoints. The menu has great diversity, especially for Gainesville, and I have never had anything I didn't like. One time, out of dozens, we had an issue with a dish and it was pleasantly and immediately replaced. They did everything in their power to ensure we felt taken care of. This is definitely a Gainesville treasure and... More

My husband and I are moving away from Gainesville next month, and The Top is one of the places we will miss the most. The atmosphere is great, really "Gainesville." There's a lot of weird artwork, and a lot of even better food. I have never had anything bad, ever. My staples are the Mastadon burger, vegetarian style (legit black... More

They expended the bar and it's awesome and I haven't been disappointed with the food either! I guess I could agree with the other comments on service but I really didn't notice as the table conversation occupied my time. The menu is quite diverse and I had gnocchi one time and pork belly the next. Others had the ahi entree... More

This is one of the most popular dining spots in Gainesville because of the unique atmosphere but mostly because of the fabulous food. A tremendous variety of dishes that are all excellent and many that you won't find in most restaurants. Throw a dart at the menu, you can't go wrong.

This is one of our more favorite eclectic dining places around town. Often very busy, always many interesting people to watch (including the staff!), fun decor....and never a disappointing meal!

The Top is very popular even late at night you can expect to wait on the weekends but it is worth the wait. Last week we showed up hungry at 11pm and had to wait 30 minutes. The open face tempeh and pesto sandwich hit the spot. Eclectic setting with surprisingly good service.
