Had dinner again at The Top last night and it was, as always, a great dining experience. The hostess and waiter were so attentive and accomodating. The food was wonderful. My favorite place in Gainesville for an informal, relaxed dinner. Good for a crowd or just for two. The tofu triangles and sweet potatoes fries can't be missed. As for entrees, I usually get the spinach salad with scallops which makes for a relatively light and healthy dinner. The food matches well with the atmosphere, eclectic and enjoyable. more

For appetizer selections the plantains and sweet potato fries are incredible. As for the entrees its hit or miss. The potatoe gnoki is awesome but the ribs were the toughest ribs Ive ever eaten in my life. This is not your "run of the mill" type of place. It has eclectic, funky and fun decor. The food is creative and fresh, fresh, fresh. Great for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. Wonderful Greek salad, delicious mojitos, great steaks, interesting appetizers. This place attracts all sorts of folks, not just those "fringe" types as other reviews have suggested. more
