If you haven't been to Satchel's, you haven't had the full Gainesville experience, you haven't had pizza, and you definitely haven't bought the best souvenirs ever in Lightin' Salvage. Great pizza, super salad, extensive beer menu (and cider too!), encouraging business ethic (the waitstaff gets paid a reasonable wage, all ATM proceeds go to non-profits) and a funky atmosphere that... Wednesday night around 7:30pm....place is PACKED....must be delicious right?--->RIGHT. Waited about 20 mins for a table...which is fine since there is SO MUCH to walk around and see, from their gift shop with all kinds of randomness to their treehouse seating in the back... Got our table and had great service, with many servers walking around, and all stopping by... More

Ok, I get this is a landmark in Gainesville and someone is amazingly "creative" with junk. The atmosphere is funky, junky, and fun, but the novelty wears off in time. It still comes down to the food. The pizza is very good, the crust is softer and has less "chew" than other pizza crust around town. Still, very good. The... More

Love this place! It is unique and quirky and the pizza is the best in town. Get the deep dish if it is available. Make sure you get a salad, it's wonderful! And, of course, be sure to check out lightnin' salvage. :)

Decor is very funky but you can't eat the chairs. If your looking for some type of "hipster experience" then you will be very pleased. If your looking for good pizza you should try another place. By the way there is absolutely no parking so I would recommend going off hours.

We have been to Satchels many times. If we have out of town guests, we bring them here for some thing unique. Their deep dish pizzas are awesome and their salads are out of this world. The art and unique atmosphere will keep you entertained. And the gift shop is full of hard to find trinkets. Cash only, but has... More

Great pizza, great calzones! They even had a non dairy cheese option for my wife who is lactose intolerant. My son and roommate couldn't finish the large pizza they ordered. Large means large! My Italian sausage calzone was excellent as well as my daughters steak and cheese calzone. We skipped dessert as we were all full but I spyed a... More

There's something to be said for an owner who cares so much about his restaurant. Satchel's has great pizza and Satche's salads are THE BEST. The salad is like a healthy form of dessert, seriously, it's awesome. There's a lot of character, heart and soul that goes into making Satche's pizza what it is, and we will miss it when... More

You have to visit here if you come to Gainesville, its part of the community as much as the University is. The food is great and its a bit quirky! Fun atmosphere and a great time a real unique and delicious experience!
