We just came back from a 5 start experience at Mark's yesterday evening. The restaurant is pricey (about $100 a person if you have drinks) but makes for an exceptional evening out. Our server last night was wonderful as well, his name is Austin. Unfortunately the service is not always so fantastic. We came in on Friday 4/11 for some... More

Went with a friend into Mark's on a Tuesday evening around 7. Got seated right away. Nice atmosphere, very comfortable for conversation. While looking through our menu, the waiter for the table next to us was going over the menu and specials. We eavesdropped and were glad we did. Our waiter gave a very, very brief description of the specials... More

I gave Mark's a try after seeing grouper with crab on the menu. My husband had a steak. The service was attentive, the bread was fresh, but I will not be the one to suggest going back. The steak was competent, but no better than what we do on the grill at home. The fish was good, but nothing unusual... More

Very good steaks, but you pay dearly and pay more for every side. A table of four will be $300 without drinks.

Steak was great as well as the salmon. Service was first class. If ever in Gainesville again we will eat there again.

Love this Mark's----we live in Ocala and like the one in Gainsville much better. Better atmosphere, Good food in both though. Had a lovely meal, great wine----food was definitely gourmet.

We recently dined at Mark's (5 adults) and although we enjoyed the ambiance the service was slow and the food was ridiculously expensive. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind dishing out the bucks if the food/service warrants it, but it was just an average meal with average service. For the quality of the food (minus the atmosphere), we could... More

I haven't dined at Marks on a while and was surprised when I couldn't even talk to someone about a reservation. The on line reservation system kept crashing so I called. I had to leave several messages but was never called back. I read some of the recent google reviews and see that this is a common complaint!

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Mark's Prime then headed to the Hipp Theatre for a show. The flavors and aroma from Mark's Prime makes it one of the best restaurants to enjoy with you significant other. We enjoyed it ever though it is a bit pricey. Worth the $. Fabulous dinner, fabulous Show (Avenue Q!). Loved the entire evening.

We found this gem right behind our hotel. We are at the bar and had an awesome meal. Everything tasted fresh and not salty. Portobello mushroom appetizer was real nice. I had a delicious wood grilled salmon filet which was probably one of the best I've tasted at any restaurant. Sautéed spinach was just like I would make at home.... More
