Good location, very close to the University. Food was just ok (I ordered a steak medium well and it came well done). Outside seating is a must!
Was taken here for a business meeting. My husband and I both got the fresh catch fish sandwich. I took one bite and almost gagged it all back up. It was the fishiest, most disgusting fish I have ever had. My husbands was the same. And each was $12. It was embarrassing to not be able to eat a dinner... More
Don't do it!!! Bad food. Fish was so bad. No one questioned our unbeaten meals and service was horrible. 6 of us. Not one good meal.
This is our second visit since our child is a student at uf we brought others with us as our guest and it was a terrible experience. I asked both my children to remind me if I suggest this place again to remind me of this experience. Arrived 12:00 restaurant empty, ordered our food in a timely manner, waitress visited... More

The Swamp is the iconic restaurant bar across from Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on University Ave. Definitely the place is buzzing on gameday. Better get there early! Great atmosphere with TVs to watch games and outdoor patio. Will upcharge for drinks and food on gameday but its part of the experience.
Go for the college atmosphere and a drink and eat somewhere else . That's about the best thing I can say about this place, it's across campus and a good people watching spot , especially on game day.
Before a great Gator Football game, have some apps and a drink at Gainesville's famous restaurant, "Swamp". The drinks are great, it's always crowded but you can even stand alone the fence and get served. The people there work really hard to get your food/drinks out fast. What is best about this place is the pre-game atmosphere. So excited, about... More
