Group booking. Friendly service with chef introducing himself to all of us. Prompt food delivery. Wine good. Food well cooked. Good choice for all courses. Mainly Italian style for. Local foods used. Would definitely consider going there again.

I've never been disappointed by a meal here. Service is always good as well (a tough find in the 'hipster' ladened city of Gainesville). For a while this was the best Italian place in town. And while I don't believe this is the case any longer (not due to their decline but rather to a couple new places opening that... More

This restaurant is awful and the food they server is terrible. Has NOTHING to do with the Italian cuisine. Everything is overwhelmed by the amount of sauce they dump on every single dish. That applies for all the dishes we ordered. The sauce on my Veal Scaloppine tastest like BBG sauce. The only good thing was the espresso and the... More

We were visiting the campus of U of Florida. Coming from Maryland, we relied on Trip Advisor for recommendations and were not disappointed. Amelia's was a wonderful find and we enjoyed an excellent Italian dinner. All aspects- appetizers, salad and entree were well presented and prepared. We happened on a 1/2 price wine night which was a nice bonus. The... More

This is a quaint little Italian Restaurant in the heart of downtown. Just walking in and you are quickly swept up in the feel of a fine restaurant in an Italian village. The chef knows how to please even the most staunch Italian. We usually visit once a month and are always treated as if we are appreciated. The food... More

The one item we ordered that was very good was the lasagna I took home for my son. It was a little spicy which was unsual and very tasty. Other than that, not really impressed. Decor, carpet, everything definitely dated. Prices okay, selection of wine very good. Staff were excellent, but I would honestly not go back. Was not worth... More

Like most Italian places the portions are large, but they had the option to split a meal, which is handy when you can't take a box back to a hotel. It was enjoyable though where to park was confusing. Be careful as towing is frequent in a college town.

I have eaten at Amelia's twice in the last month. Once for lunch and the other for a celebratory dinner. Both meals were great. The lunch menu is great value and they promise prompt service. For dinner we started with martinis and bruschetta, which were delicious. Our salads were cold and fresh, and our entrees were perfect. We finished off... More

Great italian food at reasonable prices with great service. The breads are crusty and flavorful, the calamari is tender, and the sauce was spicy, but not overwhelming.

Great food, love some of the new items on the menu. They may not be that new but havent been for quite a while. Went twice in the past month and enjoyed just about everything. Was there last week and they were pretty dead so thought it would be fast considering what I ordered but it was rather slow service.
