So disappointed in this restaurant. I can't believe the high ratings it is earning. The menu was boring and I almost walked out. The bread was tasty. I finally decided on the linguine pesto which was so over sauced that I only took a few bites. But the server didn't even mention that when I declined to take it home.... More

Yummy italian food at reasonable prices. Everything was great. The bread, calamari, and tiramisu were all especially delicious.

Went to Amelia's for our last dinner of the season before heading back up North. It was just delicious, with wonderful service and perfect food, Chef always remembers us and checks in with each table, which is so appreciated. It's tricky to find carefully prepared, fresh, Italian fare around here, but Amelia's hits it on the head every time.

Clean and a very romantic setting with dim lighting and quiet atmosphere. The food was excellent and we were impressed that the chef and owner came out to speak to every guest asking them how they enjoyed their meal.

My husband and I were in Gainesville for an evening and were looking for a nice place for dinner--not too expensive but good quality. Amelia's turned out to be exactly what we were after. From the moment we walked in, we had a good feeling. The hostess greeted and seated us immediately, and the excellent service continued throughout the meal.... More

We loved the Veal and the Soup as well as The Cheese Cake were amongst things as well as the great service. The cake was complimentary for my Birthday. OurThanks to Amelia's for helping to make my Birthday quite memorable.

A group of friends who have become family found the perfect place to have dinner on Christmas Day. Amelias offered the regular menu plus some wonderful specials. Everyone, including my neighbor whose son is a professional chef, loved the food. Don't wait until next Christmas to try the chicken or veal Marsala or veal Milanese--both of which are wonderful. If... More

Situated in the historic district in among the shops and eateries directly around and behind the Hippodrome, this restaurant turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. The first impression one gets upon entering Amelia's is that of a diner made over in white linens for a country wedding reception. Add to that the first glass of house wine by... More

We were strolling through the Historic Gainesville District and decided at the last minute to have dinner at Amelia's. While we did not have a reservation and the restaurant was obviously busy, the staff made us feel most welcome and seated us immediately. The atmosphere was wonderfully Italian, and our server, Emily, was most knowledgeable of the menu and made... More

The chicken in a lemon sauce with capers was amazing. It was my moms birthday and the chef came out and played happy birthday with a saxophone.. Coolest birthday dinner ever. The chef Andy was so nice and walked around and spoke to everyone. Everything I ate there was great. Highly recommended!
