This is an esthetically lovely dining room and the Chef coming to the table is classy and commendable. I went with 4 friends and we love Italian food and we are open to different preparations and seasonings within that italian range. BUT. I found so much salt on the vegetables ( they were very accommodating to give me cooked veggies... More

I was greeted by the chef, had a nice salad, wonderful bread, warm and tasty, with soft butter, then the grouper...flaky and lightly battered with a translucent red sauce over sauteed spinach with garlic. Spumoni for dessert. Good service and the chef stopped by to see each table. Definitely recommend this restaurant. Priced for the quality. Great value.

Located in the historic celebrated bricktops area, lots to do after dinner, I brought my graduated son for the family celebration. The owner accepted my reservation from a cell phone in his car, and we were not disappointed, the food is excellent, it's an intimate lovely white tablecloth decor. Our waiter was funny and astute.

Amelia's was very good and would get five stars except for one fairly large misstep when I asked for our wine to be decanted and the served decanted it into a clearly dirty decanter (we're talking thick dust both inside and outside the decanter). After that issue, however, fantastic food - a lobster ravioli for the wife which she really... More

While passing through Gainesville we were told by friends to visit the quaint downtown. After checking out the menus at various restaurants we decided on Amelia's and boy are we glad we did. This is not a fancy restaurant just elegant. This is simply a restaurant with great food and service. The owner-chef Andy Fass greets everyone individually during the meal... More

Looked at a menu on Yelp and thought it looked OK but when we arrived it was way beyond our expectations. The menu was far from the chain-restaurant description on Yelp. Lots of original dishes. The owner/chef was on premises and actually played his sax, joining the duo that was playing relaxing background music. Very pleasant experience.
