Great Italian great service

Had a fantastic Italian meal here. The menu was typical Italian choices. Our table had five different entrees and one was better than the next. We truly enjoyed our meal, and the chef/owner Andy Fass and his staff were very welcoming and frequently checked in with us to make sure everything was to our liking. I had been told before going to try the Veal Marsala, that it was perhaps the best in the world. It was indeed excellent. My wife had the grouper which... More

We have not eaten often in Gainesville. We visit there occasionally to attend UF sporting events but the games seldom are timed to coincide easily with dinner. This Saturday night however the Gator basketball game ended at early 8 PM allowing our extended family time to eat and still get back home at a reasonable hour. Therefore we checked Trip... More

if you live in Gainesville you already know Amelia's is the best. If you are visiting, it's a must stop. Our party of 8 was served on a very busy night - Valentines. But inside, despite a full restaurant, the atmosphere was relaxing. The food was superb - from veal to pasta to seafood. The service (Becka was our waitress)... More

The dessert I chose was Tiramisu, which was not up to par, dry, and unappealing to my tastebuds. I spoke to the waitstaff before ordering. Discussed i was eager to have Tiramisu. When I informed them of the result of my experience no comp was offered. I paid full price and that was that. It was a dissappointment. I left... More

Celebrated a 21st birthday at Amelia's and the staff helped make it most memorable - in an elegant way. The food was amazing! The Happy Birthday serenade by owner/chef and sax player, Andy Fass, was a perfect way to end our dinner on this special night.

Amelias is my families favorite restaurant. We are Italian, from the New York/ New Jersey area where there is excellent Italian food. We have traveled to Italy several times, so we know good Italian when we taste it. Most people thing of pasta when they think of Italian food, but that is just one part of the cuisine and Amelias...
