We felt the food was only fair. More on the line of a chain restaurant rather than authentic ethnic cuisine. Menus were paper and dirty. Nothing particularly exciting on it. Arepas were disappointing... Very dry and tasteless. Service was very good. Probably won't return because there are better restaurants in town.

I LOVED the food at this place! I'm a townie and I find some of the more "hipster" places in town exhausting and unwelcoming (The Top, Jones B Side, Leonardos... though they have the best pizza in town!) but the wait staff here was friendly and welcoming. Great deals (Sunday afternoon - 2 for 1 sangria, which was yummy!) and... More

The empanadas were terrific. We had both beef and chicken. I always enjoy the arroz con pollo and today was no exception. They have lunch bowl selections that are very nice. The service is fast and friendly. Just a great place to eat.

I lived in Gainesville many years ago and frequented this place as much as I could. Returning 17 years later, the quality, friendliness and value are still solidly there. I ate there 3 days in a row on a business trip -- taking friends along. Everyone -- and they're well-traveled -- was impressed, from the cafe con leche to the... More

Good authentic Spanish/Cuban food, and I have spent many years in and out of Key West who knows how to prepare wonderful Cuban dishes. Average ambiance inside, as well as, curbside seating available (with vehicles up to adjacent sidewalk). I prefer something more upscale for a date. However, Emiliano's Cafe is good place to go for a casual, impromptu meal... More

We can always rely on Emiliano's for creative, fresh, made to order dishes with a Spanish flair. Lunch bowls are our favorite lunch items with "tostones" (fried green plaintains) & cilantro dipping sauce...yum. Dinner specials always include fresh seafood creatively prepared. Service is friendly, a good wine list and mojitos make for a relaxed atmosphere, especially on the nights they... More

Emiliano's Café was a very pleasant surprise. It was a beautiful day in downtown Gainesville and we were looking for a place for a quick lunch where we could eat outside. This was perfect. The service was great and the food was excellent. I had the special of the day; a grilled chicken sandwich with a blueberry-chipotle compote and goat... More
