Good food. Beautiful place.

Local foods. The owner/chef lives on top floor. Beautiful house turned into a restaurant. Artwork for sale adorns the walls. The outside patio area is very nice. The owner's husband designed/created the working fountain. Sandwiches come with a side and drink. They and the salads are different and... read more

This has become a favorite when visiting family in Gainesville. Haven't done dinner, but lunch is phenomenal! They've just added amazing sweet potato fries and the sangria is some of the best we've had!

It's like a So Cal restuarant right here in Gainesville. The waitsaff is very attentive and friendly. The food is delicious and fresh. I love the iced tea, soups and the ham and cheese panini- YUMMY! Quiet little rooms with a antique flair. You must try it. Great little house tucked away off a busy street. It reminds me of... More

Third time here and we were again not disappointed. Food was excellent as always and the service was attentive. The Spicy Shrimp Arrabiata was outstanding and the Eggplant Stack to die for. We always send out-of-towners here. Bon Appetite.

Visited for lunch and was really disappointed with the amount it took for our food to be served, Food was good but a bit pricey. Great acoustics as you could listen to every ones conversation. If you are limited for time at lunch, I would not choose this restaurant again.

We had not eaten here for a while when we tried The Fat Tuscan the other day. It is handy to downtown (for what that's worth), and in a nice old house, but the food is really not very good The concepts are good, but the execution lacks skill. My panino (called a panini in the fractured-Italian manu!) was pressed... More

My wife and I picked this restaurant on a whim and we're glad we did. Food was excellent and the service maybe better. A real winner...we'll be back.

My daughter goes to Univ of FL and likes this restaurant, and she is a pretty picky eater who appreciates non-chain restaurants. She recommended this for a group on a Saturday of Homecoming weekend, and the restaurant was not ready for a group of 9. No refills on drinks, food came out for other tables who came in after us,... If you want to spend $11 on a sandwich you could make at home for $2, this is your spot. Lunch special includes a soda or tea, a side, and a sandwich. My friend and I ate here for Saturday lunch. Interesting experience, to say the least. First of all, our server. Throughout the meal, she seemed distracted and annoyed.... More
