We went to Garlic and Ginger for the first time since Dragonfly was not open. The atmosphere was not the best, but the taste made up for the dark and old room. We shared spicy beef noodle soup, which was quite good with ginger and spicy flavors. The two rolls were fresh and flavorful. Our server was new, but attended... More

We found this through TA recommendations and are so glad we did. Outstanding for both the meat eater (me) and the vegetarian (my wife). We started with some steamed dumplings that tasted like they were freshly made. Just outstanding flavor and stuffing. I went with the short ribs for the main course and they were sliced incredibly thin and seasoned... More

The food was quite good. If you are an american who is trying korean food for the first time be prepared for completely different taste than your accustomed to. Korean food that is authentic as this one is not like your typical chinese food. It has different flavors and and is not fried rice and general tsaos chicken. If you... More

Food was very good. We ordered two plates to share and it was plenty. Our seafood platter was too spicy even though I like spicy food. Service was great. Will definitely go back.

We have eaten Koren food in the past yet it's been a while. The server was patient and informative. Our meal was beyond our expectations and that's hard to do with 2 teenagers

Wow, I can't believe I'm writing the first review for this place in 2014! Long overdue I think. Garlic & Ginger has quality Korean food in an unexpected location considering that Gainesville is a smaller city(albeit a college town). The location is convenient if traveling on I-75. It's a good option if you need a big city dining experience when... More

Recently returned to Garlic & Ginger with friends of mine, and once again I was not disappointed. Everything is very authentic. We got four different entrees and shared with one another. This time it was beef bulgogi, a soup made with beef and scallions, the baby octopus dinner, and the beef intestines dinner. The waitress double checked with my friend... More

My friend and I ate here on a Tuesday night, at around 8:30 pm. There were only two other customers at the time, which made us worried as sometimes a slow restaurant isn't a great restaurant. However, that turned out not to be the case! Great Korean food with an extensive menu, excellent service, good Soju. There are many vegetarian... More

I like Korean food and I have actually travelled to Korea a few times and enjoyed the local food in Seoul a lot. I had lunch with my colleagues and friends at Garlic and Ginger in Gainesville and I was very pleasantly surprised. The food quality was good, tasted just like in Korea and I really enjoyed that. Usually the... More

I'm a Korean. There are several restaurants that serve Korean dishes in Gainesville, but this place has the most authentic Korean dishes without question. The lunch menu is very affordable ($6-$10 most) and dinner portion is huge. I highly recommend this place if you want to try out what Korean food is like.
