Description: Going ten years strong with a menu designed to make mouths water and a location that embodies Gainesville's Downtown area, Big Lou's NY Style Pizzeria comes from humble beginnings. As many local start-ups do, Lou's developed into the reputable pizza spot it is today through a patient process. Lou Wynn, or "Big Lou" himself, is originally from South Florida but was no stranger to Gainesville. Graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in Health Science, Lou eventually decided to pursue the food industry. He was so inspired to build up his own restaurant (with the help of his supportive wife, Mary) that he was willing to do whatever it took to make it work - and even went as far as selling his car to pay for the original costs. Biking to work for the first few months of business is a whole new level of dedication... Nearly one decade and thousands of pizzas later, Lou's is constantly growing (currently under renovation!) While staying true to its warm and welcoming hometown roots. With a close group of team members, fun atmosphere and fresh ingredients that make our variety of menu items so satisfying, we promise any Lou's experience to leave you happy, full, and excited to come back again.

I had the lotsa meatsa pizza and my husband had the supreme. One small pizza could have easily fed both of us. The sausage was fantastic. The garlic knots were covered in roasted garlic and very yummy, although by now I'm sure no one is going to want to sit near us at the gator game! Would definitely hit up... More

I like sitting outside here on a nice day. The pizza is good, and they have a decent beer selection with good prices.

Stuck working late in town. Tried Lou's "New York" style pies. Tried chicken pesto which was all garlic cream and no basil flavor. Other was pepperoni ok though rather dull. To top it off, . fried cheese sticks were left out of our take out order and only discovered once back at our hotel. The other side order was dry... More

Great funky old gas station converted into a pizzeria. The pie was perfect. Slightly sweet sauce and a nice thin crust with a crunchy bottom and chewy center

This restorant is a paradise for cheese lovers like me:)! I ordered a medium size-OMG that was huge!!! I gave it four stars only because inside was hot as hell and we were seated next to AC:(

Fresh ingredients, hot delivered to our room pizza and a yummy spinach salad. The driver had obviously been at our hotel before.

We had dinner there Sunday night, despite driving rain the restaurant was quite full. My son and his lady friend joined me, and had ridden their bicycles to the restaurant. The staff was very cool, and let them bring the bikes in to protect them from the rain. As always, the salad was superb, the pizza was delectable, and the... More

All of our out of town guests always request to eat at Big Lou's AT LEAST once during their visit. Big Lou's offers delicious pizza, with the best sausage EVER! Hometown atmosphere, quick service and never disappoints. Can't beat the lunch special of 4.50 for a huge slice and a drink.

A great and simple pizza joint with a friendly atmosphere. Quick service with a smile. I had a cheese pizza, which is my favorite. A great pizza experience.

I have only eaten here twice and it was 2 years apart form one another. I would go more often, but I live in Minnesota Both times there I thoroughly enjoyed the pizza. Definitely not the most elegant setting, but very good pizza. Would highly recommend.
