This probably ranks in the top 3 worst dining experiences in my life.. Having said that we ended up here on recommendation from an employee at the hotel we stayed at. It was stated to be a local favorite and not touristy.. Not touristy for a reason. We walked in, it smelled like a home from the 1950's.. Looking over... More

Very over priced. Best thing was the gumbo my 10 year old ordered. She thought it was so good, she wanted a refill. I ordered the special-red snapper. Fish was over cooked. Hubby had grilled shrimp. 1/2 dozen on a kabob. For $22. Not worth it. The kids had fried popcorn shrimp. It was WAY better than my grilled red... More

I visit FWB about every six months. I always stop in at High Tide at least once per trip. Last night I started with a dozen raw from Apalachacola (be sure to always ask for oysters from Apalachacola). The raw bar prepared them well - they came easily off the shell and they were ice cold. The waitress was attentive... More

We very much enjoyed going to happy hour every afternoon that we stayed. The drinks were great and the bartenders were very personal.

We were in Ft. Walton/Okaloosa Island June 2014. We decided to try this restaurant because it was close to our condo and someone local had recommended it. We had a group of 7 and we all say it was the best meal we had during our stay. Highly recommend this place!!!!

Just finished a late dinner at the High Tide. The staff was so friendly from the minute we walked in the door. Food was fast and hot and fresh. You must try the triggerfish chargrilled. It is so wonderful. Don't write this off by driving by and seeing the building. Come inside. Hint the place was full of locals which... More

Hightide is a favorite on Okaloosa Island that we are sure to plan to include in our vacation. Located just over the bridge on Miracle Strip Parkway, many people may not have noticed Hightide in the past. Hightide has an oyster bar in the left dining room, a second bar/ waiting area to the right room of the hostess desk,... More

Everything we had was delicious and fresh. The gumbo was so full of authentic flavor and really well seasoned. The bacon-wrapped grilled shrimp stuffed with crab were huge! I had an order of six with baked potato, coleslaw and 2 huge homemade hush puppies. The fried seafood platter was giant and fed 2 people easily. The grilled fresh red snapper... More

We have been traveling to Fort Walton for over 15 years. The food at the High Tide is always the same, and I like it. The deviled crab and the fried crab claws are great. It's a little outdated inside, but the food is good and it isn't expensive.

Food was overpriced and fried. I got raw oysters and they were luke warm instead of cold. My girlfriend got the scallop platter and ate about 3 scallops and that was it. This place is old and not my cup of tea.
