The menu, food service and friendly staff are great. Catfish Acadian is one of my favorites. Dirty Rice and Chicken livers, Shrimp, Oysters are all super and we have tried them all. You Must save room for Bread Pudding, even take an order home for later. You will be a Happy Camper after eating here!

Food was average. Service was ridiculously bad. Venue was marginal, with "fair" parking at best. They actually started out as a good restaurant. But the 790 opened a new restaurant on Destin Beach, about five blocks south of Bass Pro Shops, and its clear that the management effort and attention shifted with it. 790 on Beale Parkway went downhill quickly.... Food was great, building was always terrible. I always loved the food here but the building was always outdated and was kept cluttered and messy. I fond it hard to really relax when I'm looking at clutter and disorganization. They had the absolute best bread pudding dessert I've ever tasted.

790 North is one of our favorite local haunts. A cup or bowl of their famous and award winning gumbo is an absolute must. Locals know to ask for the crawfish etouffee (not on the menu) and beware the dinner portion will stretch your buttons. Have NEVER had a bad meal.

The food and menu had changed. The menu doesn't tell you the crap changes they have made. The sandwich on the menu was listed as served on ciabatta bread an am out on plain white bread. There were knats immediately flyin around my face when my food was brought out. Good news is the gumbo is still fabulous. If that... More

If you are looking for wonderful food, atmosphere and service of an expensive restuarant but at prices that feel nice to your pockets then you must try 790 North. They have a flair for the unique and If you decide to try something cajun then you and your stomach must be prepared because it is not for the fly-by-night cajun... More

I am kind of torn as how to rate this restaurant. The atmosphere was nice, the service was good and the food tasted pretty good. In fact, as I was eating my meal I was thinking about coming back another time to try some of the other items on the menu. HOWEVER, approximately two hours after eating my meal I... More

Driving to the "backside" of Fort Walton Beach saves you $$$. I liked all the seafood and my family tells me the Cajun dishes were good as well. Friendly service, laid back - just lacks the high prices of the beach area.

It's a cajun restaurant that uses really good seafood in their dishes. My only complaint was the roux in the seafood gumbo was red. It was still very tasty once i got over my OCD for a dark roux in gumbo.

Great little hole in the wallish type place that is a fav with locals. The po-boys are my husband's pick while I like whatever the fish sandwich is. The bread pudding is really good-real rum sauce and everything. Kind of a cajun/seafood/american menu with a bit of everything.
