In looking for a place to eat for lunch, on Sanibel Island (another location) and dinner, we found this a great place to eat with excellent service and mouth watering food. I would highly recommend this to anyone, and if we are back in this area again will definitely return.

Setting is great, right on the water. Enjoyed the live entertainment that was playing during both of our visits. Their drinks are very good as well. I recommend their signature fish sandwich, it was well prepared and tasted great!

We met friends at Doc Ford's in the Fort Meyer's beach area. The food was very good.....mussels, oysters, shrimp tacos, grouper were all great. The brownie dessert was huge and the kids loved it. The restaurant is loud and in a marina settling that I would call a working marina with fishing boats and a repair yard close by. It... More

...and I love the restaurants! Good food, fair prices and a cool ambiance. Much like the books, it's laid back, casual, and a fun time. The Yucatan Shrimp were great -- make sure you have bread to sop up the sauce afterwards. The restaurant is located somewhat underneath the bridge on the mainland side.

Enjoy going to Doc Ford's. The setting is just perfect, the service is good and so is the food. A nice place to take out of town guests.

Great place to try especially if you ever have read any of the Randy Wayne White books. Great food (kids menu too), nice view, awesome service (we were there with a party of 10 to celebrate birthdays). I had the shrimp tacos which were excellent and the specialty mojitos were delicious! Highly recommend it if you are staying in the... More

This place is amazing, like a beach bar with phenomenal food. You can smoke downstairs on the waterfront or sit upstairs where there is no smoking but also with a brilliant view of the boats. If you're in the area... Don't miss out.

Whilst holidaying in Florida a friend invited us to Doc Fords for lunch and listen to a local band playing. Everything about this place was excellent, the location, the staff, the entertainment and especially the food. We both ordered paella and it was absolutely fantastic. It was a huge portion and I could not stop eating until the plate was... More

My wife and I had mixed feelings about this popular restaurant. The clam chowder was very thick but flavorful with lots of clam pieces and chunks of potato. The rib eye steak was tasty but tough. The best dish of the evening was the Dinkins Bay Boil, which is steamed shrimp (18-22 per lb) dressed in real butter, old bay... More
