Good place for breakfast with 50/60s nostalgia

First of all, the service is decent and the staff is friendly. I have been to this Mel's a number of times for both lunch and breakfast. The breakfast fare is a nice variety with both American dishes and some ethnic. I like the way they have the menu listed "on the lighter side" for those of us... read more

I was told about this restaurant by an elderly lady who wintered in Naples and informed me that this is the place all the retired people eat at during the winter season. I can understand why after looking at the prices and selections. They have a $20 for two dinner menu that includes a soup or salad, entrée and desert... More

We arrived starving today. We started with a spicy Bloody Mary and a screwdriver. Both of which were good. Then my husband ordered the meat lovers omelette special. It came with rye toast and grits and was loaded with meat. I had a small biscuit and gravy and it was a plateful! The gravy had a really wonderful silky consistency... More

Loved the decor and the manager working that night was ok. After taking our drink order the server took a Good 10-15 minutes before she came to our table to take our food order. Now mind you it was not busy. Some of the other servers that were serving their own tables got to them quick and made sure to... More

This place was fun to go to once but I wouldn't go again. The food was okay, lots of choices. The waitress was less than friendly. The atmosphere was decent but nothing exciting. It was an average place to eat. Nothing special.

A great place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We have eaten at Mel's since our return to FL in 1998. We enjoy their friendliness and prompt service too.

I am an aficionado of black and white milkshakes! Having enjoyed them for the better part of my 60 + years and now that we live in sunny Florida, I take advantage of Mel's delicious drink at least once a month..........that is all the diet allows.! Real ice cream, real chocolate syrup, whipped cream and even a cherry on top.... More

Walk in the front door and you step into a Time Machine! This restaurant is truly a throwback to the diners of the 1950's and 60's. From the decor to the food, it all harkens to a simpler fun time. There are plenty of excellent tasting menu choices and all are reasonably priced. Half the fun is just taking the... More

Another chain restaurant that I have visited once. I know that people like this because the lot is always filled.
