The place on San Carlos Blvd. is NOT closed. We had seafood gumbo and crawfish étouffée. Although both were very good, we agreed that our favorite was the étouffée. No skimping on ingredients! We spoke to Maria and found her to be delightful. A bowl of gumbo is pretty big, not your normal bowl of soup. We will be back.

Doubting the validity of the latest review............last review 8/19 stated" the restuarant was really good and funny that 2 days later, as we visited the restaurant it was not only closed but it is FOR SALE! The grass is nearly 10" tall around the frame from the realty company.....It is closed and for sale...don't bother

Kid friendly small diner like place. Fish fry and Smoked salmon are very good. Maria is very nice and even serves at times. You have to look close or you'll miss it. Restrooms are outside the building, it doesn't look like much but the food is worth it.

First time try. Food was good. Except for the mussels in green sauce. They were on the verge of going bad. Veal dish was good but a little skimpy on the serving.ganolli was like a rock. But the other deserts were to die for. Would give it a second chance hope they read this.

We went based on other trip advisor reviews. Wanted the salmon Duvall but they said they were out of a key ingredient...so, we had a bowl of gumbo (huge), and the crawfish étouffée. We sat at our table for a full 10 minutes before getting a menu. Maria's son who was dining at another table told us about the fabulous... More

We've eaten here twice, and like Maria's other restaurant (The Smokehouse), the food is infused with her passion and understanding of what makes delicious food. The Gumbo is one of the best I've ever had, including many memorable versions in New Orleans. Any of the fresh fish dishes are worth trying, but Maria's famous fried grouper is what I crave.... More

Seafood Gumbo was good as was the grouper. Crablegs were very dry and I suspect must have been freezer burned; Maria did graciously remove them from the bill. Coleslaw was soupy. Had to bring my party to Panera afterwards to get something to fill them up. The food, coupled with the strange atmosphere, assure that I will never go back.

Based on trip advisor reviews, we stopped for a late lunch. No waiting today; there were two other parties seated when we arrived. The bowl of gumbo was huge and tasty and hot. My husband had the fisherman's platter of Fiedler seafood...it was hot and dropsy, but a bit too salty in my opinion. I went with Salmon Duvall which... More
