From the mojitos to the tres leches, everything was perfect. The second we walked in, we knew this would be the type of experience we were seeking: warm and welcoming. We were individually greeted with a handshake. From that moment forward the staff was attentive and anticipated our every want and need. The owner sent a complimentary platter of fried... More

My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and decided to try Mario's We were greeted by Mario the owner and got a warm welcome and introduction to his restaurant. From that moment on we were showered with attention - but not intrusive - and every bite of food was exceptional in both quality and presentation. We went all the... More

Whenever we are in the Ft. Lauderdale area, we try to schedule a dinner at Mario's Catalina Restaurant for Cuban/Spanish cuisine. The food, especially the tamal pork and empanada appetizers, are consistently extraordinary, and the staff could not be more welcoming. You are greeted and served like family. The Mojitos are not too shabby either.

As we entered Mario's we were awed by the wonderful museum-like decor. Upon ordering dinne, the waiter was extremely helpful, the sangria was excellent ( a little light on the wine) the food was Great, my wife had cuban style steak and loved it, I had Vaca Frita and I can state that it was far better than Gloria Stefans/... First, the owner/host Mario is iconic in the business and takes pride with providing an overall memorable experience in a museum-like, elegant atmosphere. As a caveat though, it can be very expensive if you do not have any special vouchers to use, and the way it is sold/offered to you can be tricky since you feel pressured to pre-purchase your... More

I came here with 2 of my friends a couple days before Halloween. It was my friend's birthday and had a random recommendation from a guy at a bar to come here. Our server's name was Luis, and he was awesome! We didn't know what to order so he gave us a couple recommendations and everything he suggested tasted great!... More

My friend and I had so much fun eating at Mario's Catalina Restaurant. The owner wasn't there the night we went, but the manager took great care of us. The mojito's were delicious and we enjoyed everything we ordered. Plus I have never seen so many desserts on a dessert tray in my life.

We were referred to Mario's by the doorman at the Westin. It looked like nothing special from the outside but boy were we in for a surprise! Mario himself greeted us warmly. The chef came to the table and explained the menu items (Cuban food, which I had never had before). When we received our food, the chef came right... More
