This is one of my favorite "go to" restaurants while in Ft. Lauderdale. We've been here a dozen times, and it's always great. The owner, Mario, is quite the character, matching the flamboyant decor, floating from table to table making everyone feel welcome, pointing out specials and must haves. The food has always been on point. Great place to take... More

For a group of five adults, we ordered croquettes and beef empanadas as appetizers. The ham croquettes were fine. The empanadas were excellent, filled with a lot of very well- seasoned ground beef. Two persons ordered Sangria, one thought it was not bad and the other person did not drink it. Instead, he ordered a Mojito, which he liked. I... More

We were in Ft. Lauderdale for a conference and decided to venture out on our own for dinner one night. A local friend suggested Mario's for some tasty Cuban food. The entire experience was incredible. We met Mario who was a gracious and entertaining host. Our server was very nice, efficient and made some great recommendations for food. I had... More

We came to Mario's with another couple and their 2 kids. We were looking for great Cuban food in the area. When we got to the restaurant we were a little weary as the outside of the place is not that inviting. It looked like a hole in the wall (slightly) but we decided to check the inside out. We... More

We were visiting from Baltimore and Mario's had been highly recommended. From the moment we walked through the door we were welcomed by all staff and Mario makes it a point to say hello and check in on everyone's experience. Such a warm, personal and classy atmosphere. The food was flavorful and authentic, the red sangria was the best I've... More

Okay, so for those who are complaining about the price, please see the three dollar signs under the name. The prices are steep, but the Mojitos are strong, the food is delicious, and the staff is attentive and friendly. We sat at the bar and had the Tamal with Lechon and Empanadas. After that and a couple of Mojitos and... More
