This place is a scam... Be careful!!! Do not buy any gift cards. They will take your money and never accept them.

Second time here. both times as a guest of friends. It's an attractive place, kind of old fashion chic. Good size cocktails, helpful and attentive wait staff. The food was OK some things stood out like the empanada on the appetizer plate for four. The plantain chips lovely. The Lechon ( baby pig ) just a pile of shredded pork,... More

Restaurants are about leaving with a great experience between food, ambience, service, energy, the works.......and, Mario's Catalina fit all that criteria. We had the warmest reception upon entering the very warm restaurant on a Friday night with the owner himself taking us to our table. Immediate attention of three servers and our waiter was given us beginning with the plantain... More

My largest complaint about this place is the ridiculous prices they charge. I had typical Cuban Pork that cost $30.00 and my friend got Vegetarian Paella that Cost the same. Dessert was about $10.00. The food was actually good but not special. It does have a nice ambience with adequate service. My rating largely reflects the terrible value.

The complimentary plantain chips and salsa that arrived at our table were an amazing taste of what's to come. Be sure to save the extraordinary salsa for you meal - its fabulous. We started with the Combination Platter appetizer for 4, which represent perhaps the best flavors on the menu. For entrees, we ordered Mario's Favorite (delightful), Grilled Argentinean Skirt... Owner welcomed us and sat us immediately. The food is Cuban Spanish. It is located on 1611 North Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale. It goes by the name of Catalina Restaurant. We had the sangria which is homemade and wonderful along with the Catalina Platter which is an appetizer for 4. It was enough food for 6. Many of the... More

When we stepped into Mario's Catalina from it's unassuming exterior, it was like we were entering another world and discovering a treasure! We were immediately seated and served water and a beautiful display of plantain chips. The service was impeccable and expedient. We felt they were genuinely happy to have us there, and cared that we were happy with our... More

We had a great meal at this restaurant with wonderful service and lots of little extras. Without a reservation we were seated immediately and served plantain chips as soon as we sat down. The grouper, and roast pork entrees were delicious. A lovely meal.

Had dinner here a few nights ago with my wife and (teenage) kids. Everyone had a fantastic time. We were seated very quickly and our servers were extremely friendly and welcoming. My wife commented it felt like we were "part of the family." Shortly after ordering drinks, the host asked if we would mind moving to another table, as they... More

The night before our cruise we dined at Mario's Catalina. The food was very good. We had chicken chunks, garlic shrimp, black beans and rice. Everything was very well prepared. The ambiance was very nice for the location (right off route 1 south). The drink menu is very good. Assortment of wines, spirits, and specialty drinks. We tried the sangria.... More
