Had an awesome lunch yesterday with my bff at Catalina restaurant and wanted to share my experience so others will be tempted to dine at this fabulous place. The marriquitas w/ chimmichurri sauce were the perfect way to tantalize my palate before my meal of chicken breast with onions & peppers which was served with yellow rice and plantains. All... More

Go to Marios everytime I visit Ft. Lauderdale. The Sangria is fresh and ice cold. Authentic flavors. Fresh and always s great experience with Mario personally as well as the wait staff.

Going out to eat is one of my favorite past times and living in Fort Lauderdale there are many options. Catalina is one of my all time favorite restaurants! They never disappoint! The food is fresh and flavorful and service is outstanding! I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for great food, atmosphere and service!

This is my 3rd trip to Fort Lauderdale and each time I make time to visit this restaurant. The service and food are exceptional! The plantain and salsa "snack" is delicious. I always go for the roasted pork with black beans and rice and my dining companion tried the fried snapper…this is served table side and was absolutely fantastic. If... More

We ended up at Mario's Catalina restaurant by accident because I couldn't get over fast enough to turn into the driveway of the Mexican place just north of Mario's. I had no idea what I was about to get into. The dining room was crowded. You have to squeeze into your seats. The menu is fairly standard Cuban fare -... More

Great ambiance. Mario is very personable and takes care of his customers. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Best handmade mojitos around. They use pure sugar cane instead of syrup. Everything on the menu is great.

I have written several reviews for Mario's Catalina. How can you IMPROVE on PERFECTION??Mario's is BETTER and BETTER, and, each time is ASTOUNDING. I took my special friend for a celebration. He had never been to Mario's. He was so impressed with the décor, the service the art work and then,---ultimately, the Food, the Sangria and the Desserts. Mario was... More

So we were looking for a good Cuban restaurant in the Ft Lauderdale area. I called this place up, asked them if they had room for a table of 4. They said sure, come down right away and we'll seat you. Perfect! So we show up at the restaurant 15 minutes later and there are 12 people in front of... More

We love Mario's! We have a number of allergies. Mario is always able to accommodate us. He creates great dishes especially for us. Better still, he does so in a way that he makes us feel like we are a guest in his home. The portions are generous as well. Overall, going there is a wonderful experience.

Pass on this overpriced restaurant. With so many cuban cafeteria like restaurants where you will get the same exact food for ALOT less money. In addition, you will be treated more cordially and not ignored when responding to a question asked by a patron. All in all, an expensive disappointment! Go somewhere else, for example La Carreta - excellent food,... More
