funky seafood dive

Super seafood at great prices. Huge portions of perfectly cooked seafood with friendly service. Go early for their early bird specials. Not much on decor but who cares when the food is this good.

Although I've lived in S. Florida for over 50 years, first time visit to this restaurant. Down to earth interior. Quickly greeted and seated and server was just as friendly and took our orders in a timely manner. Our drinks were served immediately even though the restaurant was practically full. Hot hush puppies also served while we waited for our meals.... More

We love CFD. Their all you can eat catfish/shrimp is the best. The meal starts out with a basket of hush puppies and gets better and better. If you like fried fish this place is for you.

I think this place is in Oakland Park but no matter if you're looking for a low key place that serves good food & drink at reasonable prices you have to find this place. We enjoyed 2 for 1 drinks, great seafood, desert, and complimentary hush puppies. When you first walk in you realize the place needs a renovation job... More

I'm not one to post reviews but today March 08, 2015 my family and I dined at what is the " World famous Catfish Dewey's" located in Fort Lauderdale (4003 N Andrews Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309). When we initially arrived my family and I awkwardly waited for approximately seven minutes only to find the host (Mr. Shawn) feet away... More

Very good seafood. Hush Puppies are great. Had fried oysters, wife had shrimp scampi. Both very good. Lots of locals ( including the sheriff and other local police) eat here. Don't let exterior fool you. The food is good.

When you first enter you realize that the place needed an upgrade back in 1986. But after we sat down & saw the menu which was fair priced for everything the ambiance was soon forgotten. They have a kids menu & one of the options was shrimp which to my surprise contained 11 large shrimp! more than enough for an... More

We've been going to this restaurant practically since it was opened in 1984. Luckily it can seat a crowd because that crowd ALWAYS shows up and somehow everyone eats. The portions are generous, the staff is delightful, the ambiance is colorful, and the food is always yummy.

We decided to try this place as it is close to our place and a few people said it was good at a fair price. Fair price maybe.....Seems very rundown and in a bad need of some upgrades, new paint, flooring, staff, list goes on. Living in Fort Lauderdale you have many choices for good, fresh seafood, this is not... More

After eating lunch there Thursday were convinced we needed to try the all you can eat sea scallops Friday. Got there early, about 6.45 and had called ahead to get name on list. The first hint this was a big deal was the two guys outside managing traffic...people waiting outside and in but since had called ahead got in pretty... More
