Pefect Fried Catfish

This is a very good seafood restaurant at Andrews and Oakland Avenue in Ft. Lauderdale. The strong point of this restaurant is that they are exceptional with fried seafood, especially catfish. Perfecting fried catfish is an art and this restaurant gets it right. Because they get it right, they... read more

Leave your calorie counter at home as this is all about fried catfish. I prefer on the bone but you can get fillets. The fried shrimp is also very good. Ignore the redneck, confederate flag, Americana nature of the place. You won't be sorry.

Went to dinner Saturday night with my husband and my parents. My lobster/crab meal was delicious but pricy at $30. My husband and father both got AYCE crawfish and were happy. Moms frog legs/gator meal was tender and good. Overall, the food is good with non-fried options. My only complaint is my water had a chlorine taste, and our server... More

Again good food don't judge a book by its cover. Sat @ bar for a change ,the bartenders were the worst . They never seen us before thought they would be a little more friendly . Ordered the steamed clams only $8.00, a few sandy but good . He just put in front of me , when I asked for... More

Practically everything is fried! After a while, everything tastes the same because they were probably deep fried in the same oil pot. the best dish was the steamed clams. If I ever visit again, I'd order several dozens of clams and call it a day!

Hi Gwen! Thank you for the review. We do have a lot of fried items, that's true. But we also have a lot of items that are not fried. We have all you can eat Alaskan Snow crab Legs year round that are served hot from the steamer with drawn butter. We have broiled Florida lobster tails. We have all... More

Not looking for a fancy place so this was great. $35 for AYCE crab legs. Found a coupon online for free shrimp appetizer. Service was good. Crab legs were cooked perfectly. We had at least 8 pounds between 2 of us. I've worked in seafood for years---best prepared.

Five of us went last night to Catfish Dewey's for an excess of fried seafood. We had been before, about a year ago, and it was good. Last night could not have been more different. Starting with the service - worst I have had in a really long time. Our wait person was underwhelming. She neglected to put in one... More

Hello Arlington Mike! Clearly we dropped the metaphorical ball with your party Tuesday night. I was there. I wish you had asked for me, I could have fixed everything in real time and probably saved your experience. I know that could have been done because as you say, you had previously had good dinners. Unsatisfactory meals can ALWAYS be fixed... More

So I heard so much about this joint, had to try it out during my recent trip to So Fl. Did not want to get their nightly snow crab legs all you can eat for $34. I wanted to try their restaurant name sake "the Catfish". The service is efficient and not too friendly. they are too busy to be... More

Great seafood with a local flare. Loved all the seafood options. Service was good. It was busy on a Saturday, as most good restaurants should be. We will definitely recommend this restraunt to anyone who likes good seafood.
