tropical Acres is the best " find" in the Fort Lauderdale area. The service is like no other in broward county. Our reason for consistently visiting this restaurant is simple Tommy And Jackson. best in the area. Tommy is a bartender of the people by the people for the people 😚😗😙😜😝. we love the service. the food is unbelievable for... More

Our family has been going to Tropical Acres since the 1960's. They serve good quality food. I would say that they are more of a traditional family steakhouse than a "today's" steakhouse like Ruth Chris or Morton's. They are and have been a family owned establishment since the beginning. Lots of loyal customers.

We usually cruise every March out of Ft. Lauderdale and had been going to Chuck's Steakhouse up until this year due to the fact that it has closed. We needed to find another great dining experience that wouldn't kill the budget but wasn't a chain restaurant. My husband started doing some research online and came upon Tropical Acres. It had... Was here for a wedding reception and the room was beautiful. It was a smaller space but the staff was very friendly and it was decorated perfectly for the event. It was casual but still had a classy feel. The only off thing is that the valet is located at the front of the restaurant, so in order to get... More

Stuck in 60's or 70's . Food was mediocre . Felt like you are at a retirement home. They need a major renovation .

Hi Dawn, I apologize that your visit was not an enjoyable one, specifically that the food was "mediocre." We pride ourselves on serving a high quality of beef and seafood and I am sorry that we fell short of that. Be it that we have been in business for 65 years, we do have some older clientele, many of which... More

We chose this restaurant for a steak dinner while in Fort Lauderdale. We were boarding a cruise the next day. We met 2 friends and 3 had steak, one had chicken. My steak was served absolutely raw, I could not cut it with my knife. I ordered it medium rare. One of our dining companions had his overdone. I sent... More

Tropical Acres seemed, at first glance to be stodgy and the large dining room didn't appeal to me for ambiance but we had heard the food was great. After learning we had a 20 minute wait we chose to have a drink in the bar. The feel in there was warm and felt a lot like Cheers where, everybody knows... More

Hello Ileen, Thank you for taking the time to write such a positive review. Comparing our bar to Cheers is a great compliment and it is something that Tommy and our other bartenders try to achieve. You are correct in that a server or bartender can really make or break a dining experience and we are pleased to hear that... More

Visited Tropical Acres with my family as we spent a night near FLL before heading home from a vacation in the Keys. It was clear that many of the patrons were regulars or there celebrating a special occasion. One of the owners - third generation - stopped by tables engaging with regulars and visitors alike. As for the food, it... More

Very nice atmosphere and polite staff. My steak was great (I recommend to take the hash browns as a side dish).
