still the same great food 30 years later!

Back in the 80's this was a favorite goto place for me and my friends when we all lived in the Boca Raton area. 30 years later my wife and I are now located about 70 miles north of Ft. Lauderdale and by chance had to drive my daughter down to Hollywood/Lauderdale International to catch a flight... read more

It's never a good idea to leave the "host" table unattended, we arrived and had to wait several minutes for a persob to welcome us and bring us to the table. Several minutes went by and we got our guy, drinks were here soon, but our chips and salsa were M.I. A. So food came. I am not kidding about... More

We were staying at the nearby Hilton, waiting for a cruise ship when we found this restaurant. From my experience almost all the restaurants in Fort Lauderdale are pricey and Carlos & Pepe's was no exception. We ordered Steak Fajitas which were well prepared and quite tasty. The service was good and overall we enjoyed the experience and would go... More

My wife and I are local, and figured we should give vacationers a heads up that Carlos and Pepe's is just not that good, especially for the price. I felt like they were trying to take advantage of tourists with the prices, and serving up less than average food in return. I'd recommend trying something else in the area, whether... More

okay so it's not really Mexican food - flour tortillas? fried ice cream? - but it was decent Tex-Mex. The service was fast and friendly, the pricing was okay, and the beer was cold. The taco chips made in house along with their in-house spicy sauce (you have to ask for it) were good. We both had pretty good, and... More

Save your money. The food is hit and miss (roasted chicken tacos good, skirt steak wrap was made with poor quality meat and a ton of wet rice). First a waiter took our drink order. Those came relatively quickly but no sign of the chips and salsa he promised. After several minutes, another guy brings the chips and salsa. Several... More

A confession, I am not a Mexican food fan - do not hate me. However, my wife loves Mexican food - in fact this is her favorite cuisine. So you may guess that I periodically, give in to her desire and we eat Mexican. Four of us were on vacation, staying at a hotel close to the cruise port. Carlos... More

When is Ft. Lauderdale, we always try to go to dinner at C&P. Tuna dip, chips and salsa with extra green sauce mixed in, super nachos and a big margarita and sometimes a fried ice cream dessert. this is our regular and it's always very good. We look forward to it! I would agree with another reviewer that they could... More

My friends and I ate here for dinner the night we stayed in Ft Lauderdale before a cruise. We are all from Texas, so I'd say we know Mexican food pretty well. Overall, I was disappointed with this restaurant. The margaritas were pretty good, which improved the visit. However, the food was very expensive compared to what Mexican food usually... More

Was in town on business so went solo, place was busy so sat at the bar to eat. Bartenders acted like I was in their way, not fun. When the food came, the meal (Carlos Burrito/Beef) was very good.
