We visited Carlos and Pepe's during a family vacation in Fort Lauderdale. The restaurant was a short drive from the Lago Mar resort, where we were staying. Carlos and Pepe's is a casual, Mexican restaurant with great food, friendly service, and good prices. The guacamole was excellent. I also enjoyed the shrimp fajitas and fried ice cream. We enjoyed our... More

Took some friends from the UK to eat at Carlos and Pepe's. I haven't been there in years. The food is great, no matter what you eat. It is not cheap, considering it is Mexican food. Nevertheless, the food is plentiful and you will not go home hungry. Still a great place to eat! I can't tell you that the... More

Good service. The food is delicious. The tortilla chips were hot and the home made salsa was amazing. There was so much food we had to take the leftovers with us. Would definitely eat there again.

First off, order a coke and they bring you a glass of ice and a 20 oz bottle of soda. Salsa was excellent, guac was ok. Margarita server recommended was strong with a lot of sour mix. Server said tamales weren't too spicy, but they were. Then he scoffed when one of us asked for just a soft taco, no... More

Rice and beans are a staple in latin american food, including Mexican. This place is overpriced, though the food is typical Mexican, nothing outstanding. A plate of chicken fajitas is $19 dollars and it does NOT come with rice and beans. It comes with four tortillas, that's it. My beef burrito, which comes with rice and beans, was $16 dollars.... I am picky about Mexican food...growing up in El Paso, Texas a border town. There Mexican food is just normally...authentically wonderful! Ahhhh...but I am visiting my sister in Hollywood, Fl a and this is her favorite place! It's gotta be at least pretty good...or why waste the calories? We ordered the Ultimate Margarita and it more than passed muster. Also,... More

Should've known from the "greeting" I received from the host that good service was not on the menu. I didn't see a single smile on any staff member, nor did they seem like they enjoyed their job. On my way out, the host didn't say thanks until after I did and it was quick so he could get back to... More

Food was very bland and defiantly not worth the 14.00 for two "wanna be" enchiladas. They were actually more like burritos and there was no flavor. The chicken was dry and tasteless and the sauce was very weak and light. The service was poor as well. The server smelled like dirty socks, which can be quite displeasing to the apatite.... More

The regular sized Margarita on the rocks is about 24 ounces - surprised me how strong it was the first time...in a good way ;) Their chile rellenos are available baked: chicken, cheese, beef or veggies; order is 2 and they're usually large enough to take one home for the next day's lunch. Nothing wrong with refried beans and rice.... More

The food was good and the service was good. All in all a great meal. Just a little expensive. Our server was very courteous and helpful. Quick and efficient.
