While on vacation, we had dinner at the Mai Kai. The ambience was wonderful and the show very entertaining. The food was good, not great but way overpriced. My Mom and I got one appetizer and one entree. It was more than enough food for the two of us. Its something I reccommend for a fun night out, but being... more

I love the Mai Kai. I used to go all the time when I lived in Ft. Lauderdale. It has a fun atmosphere and great even if you go for drinks and appetizers. Dining outdoor in the gardens can be very romantic. Try the lobster bora bora out of this world. Loved it. Also the Nams are very, very good... more

I liked the show and the atmosphere but for the price the food was not up to par. I did not have any problems with my meal I would just expect more for how much you pay! more

I know the Mai Kai is a mecca for every tiki-file to visit at least once in their life time. And that's all it's going to take for me.. once in my life time. The food was passable but more expensive than what it was worth. The staff was both helpful and well, just bad. We were seated outside on... more

For the adventure of being transported out of the humm -drumm of everyday dining and entertainment, you cannot miss the MaiKai. Exotic ambiance, fantastic, slow roasted food, cooked in tradtiional Chineese ovens, drinks fit for royalty and the class of an old-school supperclub, oh, and tropical garden walks to-boot... it can't be beat! more

For over 50 years, the MAI KAI in Ft. Lauderdale has been presenting outstanding drinks and food along with its amazing Polynesian show. There's so much history it's hard to know where to begin. For cocktails, the 2-for-1 happy hour before certain dinner seatings is a must. Here's a tip: both your drinks have to be the same order, but... more

The very large group of people who joined me at the Mai-Kai had a very different experience than the negative one described below. There were over 300 of us at the Mai Kai, and we enjoyed the drinks, the food, and, of course, the Polynesian Show! The show blew me away. The costumes and the dynamic performances of the dancers... more

My husband and i went to the mai kai for our anniversary. HUGE mistake!!!!!!!!! When we got there, it was so dark we could not see our hands in front of our faces. We were cramed in there, i could put my arm around the people at the next table. My husbands food almost made him throw up, the steak... more

Mai-Kai is definitely what I expected a Polynesian-themed dinner experience to be. We created our own tapas-type sampler of appetizers and sides, and all of the food we tried was very good. Not the best that I have had, but still very good (especially the crab rangoon). The show was also very entertaining. The best part, however, was the drinks,... more

Made a special long distance trip here after reading about it in Sven Kirsten's 'Tiki Road Trip'. If you are into retro Tiki - this is the place! Did happy hour in the bar first, then had meal and show. Not cheap, but good quality. Cocktails were a little pricey but pretty good. Food was surprisingly good. Great experience. Make... more
