Description: Since 1956, we have captivated people with our warmth and magical aura. The Mai-Kai authentically recreates a Polynesian Village, complete with tiki torches, a thatch roof, tropical gardens, waterfalls and museum quality artifacts. The exciting Islander Revue is performed nightly by native Polynesian dancers in colorful hand sewn costumes. The Hawaiian wedding dance will seduce you, and the Samoan Fire and Knife dance will leave you speechless. The Revue is a favorite of all ages. The award winning cuisine includes American and Cantonese dishes, many prepared in our Chinese Ovens, and each dining room reflects a different Island of Polynesia. The Molokai Bar is a South Seas saloon with over 51 tropical drinks and live music nightly. "Home of the Mystery Drink" served by our sarong-clad maiden, with an orchid lei. Try our House Specialties - Mai-Tai and Barrel o'Rum. Happy Hour nightly 5 - 7 pm. Our Mai-Kai trading post and gift shop will give you a chance to bring home your favorite memories of the Mai-Kai. From Hawaiian shirts and hats to Polynesian Jewelry, everyone is sure to find something to bring home

My main reason for such low rating is their lack of customer service. I booked an evening with my family well in advance and asked them in writing to ensure good viewing because we had a short 7 year old kid who is really eager to see the show. When we arrrived we found we were seated way in the... More

Due to grief and losses over the past few years, we decided that we were no longer interested in the traditional family dinners we have enjoyed in previous years. With that knowledge along with the knowledge that not too many eateries are open on Thanksgiving or Christmas, I went online to see where would be open on December 25th. I... More

We had my sister and her husband's 25th anniversary here. There was about 28 of us. We had the first sitting. It was a little slow going at first, but they're literally serving three tables with the same party size at the same time. For each section they've got two servers, a runner and a section expediter. The drinks took... More

For longer than I care to remember no trip to Ft. Lauderdale has been complete without a trip to the Mai Kai restaurant. After a several years' absence, I recently returned. Always starting in the Molokai Bar, I ordered my usual Mai Tai, which during happy hour was a two for one offer. My beverage was served by an always... More

The place rates 2 stars only because the food is tasty even if quite expensive for what you get. Also the waiter was quite good. Tables and chairs are packed in very tight. Couldn't read the menu with out pulling out the flashlight from my phone. When you make your reservations be sure to book in the lower section. We... More

Mai Kai was a great experience. Whether your on a date, family or with a group of friends...You will not be disappointed. However,it is not cheap! Please be prepared to pay and be amazed & entertained. The decor immaculate! The dancers and eating fire man was awesome! When your there you must get your drink in a pineapple or coconut.... More

The place is GORGEOUS... Please do not forget to visit their garden before you live. Evenn better; if you get there on time and you already saw the show in a previous visit, please sit at the little tables out in the garden. Excellent ambiance! Couldn't asked for a better replica (considering the limitations) for a luau. Food is really... More

I was happy to say that I was happy to have gone to the Mai Kai, after all these years. I have wanted to visit for years, but finally did. Mind you, the negative part of this experience is the meal - portions are not generous. OK, I can afford the low calorie counts. I must say, I tried a... More

Went there for dinner, nice place very well decorated but was very dimly lit could not see much around you. I like to see what i am eating. It is slightly expensive. The food was ok i had higher expectations after looking at the prices. Food was not very flavorful, didn't had any salt or any spices. But that could... More
