Great Sunday brunch

Really enjoyed our visit to this off Las Olas gem. While the Shrimp and Grits were not as good as other places I have ordered the dish at, that is not to say they were bad. Service was typical for south Florida but that too is not a bad thing necessarily. It felt good to not be rushed while... read more

I came for Happy Hour, the idea being to hop onto a stool at the bar and have something to eat while downing a draft pint of craft beer. My plans were thwarted when I walked in. The bar area was packed, every stool taken, with beer drinkers standing around quaffing their thirst. And the noise! What a racket. The... More

Our family met here and couldn't talk across the table. The band was good but why so LOUD?! The food was good but we couldn't wait to finish eating so we could leave! Our ears were ringing for about an our after we left and we were glad we went someplace else for dessert where we could talk and hear... More

My friend and I were each in town on business, as we are a couple times each month, and the hotel suggested Tarpon Bend. When we went in it was about 7:15pm and still light out and the doors of the restaurant were all open, despite it being hot and very humid. We asked to be seated away from a... More

Last night, we took the water taxi from our hotel to the much anticipated stop #1, the River Walk. What we found was a ghost town. In its day, it was probably awesome, but there were very few places that were open, most of them empty and out of business. So we walked a couple of blocks and found a... More

Stayed In Lauderdale for the month of February and made Tarpon Bend our restaurant to go to every Monday night. $5.00 hamburgers and 2 for 1 beer during happy hour. The burgers were great! Thick and juicy and cooked to order! Fun to get off the beach areas and see other parts of the city too! We sat outside on... More

For lunch I ordered the mahi mahi tacos, which came with a side of black beans and yellow rice mixed together with bits of carrots, tomatoes, and onions. The tacos and their side were delicious. I savored them while reading an article about the Hubble telescope from my Astronomy magazine. Planetary nebulae for the mind and fish tacos for the... More

Wonderful dinner here before going to the Broward pac. Conch chowder delicious and mahi was as fresh a piece of fish as we have ever had. Good service and fun atmosphere. Happy hour appreciated too. Will return.
