I ate here over the Memorial Day Weekend for dinner. I chose to sit outdoors on the barge in the canal since it was a pleasant evening. The location of the restaurant is a bit out of the way from Fort Lauderdale but still reasonable and worth the extra time driving. I found the staff very helpful in going over... more

I really want to give it 3.5 stars.. but that's not an option. The food is definitely better than average, but it's all mostly simple stuff. If the crab is good, it's because the crab is good: not because the chef did some amazing job on it. I think enough reviewers have summed up the atmosphere pretty well. I didn't... more

Found this restaurant through www.tripadvisor.com. The website boasted of its world-famous garlic crabs" so we had to give that a try. Got ourselves a sampler plate that has blue crabs, golden crabs, dungeness, and alaskan king crab clusters and was large enough for 2 or 3 to share. But the main reason we went here was to have the deep... more

This is one of those places you have to be ready for when you enter. Do not expect a fancy schmancy dinner. Expect cracking crab with a mallot, wearing a bib, meat flying fun times. I enjoyed this a little more than my husband. He is more of a "clean" eater. I got the sampler and thought it was fun... more

I visited this restaurant last summer. We were excited to get some blue crabs but when we got there we were told they were too small to serve. So we ordered a crab sampler meal-it was horrible. The amount of garlic and oil that they drenched the crab in smothered the taste and you couldn't tell the difference between the... more

We ate at the Rustic Inn about 10 years ago and loved it so, we thought we'd give it another try this visit to FLL. All I can say is yuck. We ordered the garlic crab special and the crab sampler. Of the sampler, only one variety was edible (King crab). The special was horrible, tasted like bad fish. It... more

Having grown up on and around the Cheaspeake Bay, I ordered the Blue Crabs. Did not order the garlic ones as Blue Crabs are naturally sweet to the taste. What I received were long stringy legs with mush on the inside. Out of respect for my guests I tried to eat this mess, but in addition to being mushy, they... more

The service is very snooty. The waiters are nasty, short and unhelpful. The food was average and definitely not worth the amount of money they charge. You can go to Joe's Stone Crabs, pay the same amount, eat better food, get better service and a lovely atmosphere. Its a ridiculous price for the average food you get. more

After reading all of the great reviews, our party of 4 were very excited to visit this Ft. Lauderdale seafood restaurant. We took a long cab ride from our hotel just to go. I had the Crab Special. Very generous portion and I could only eat about 2/3 of the amount that was served. It was very tasty except for... more

The REAL DEAL! Laid back atmosphere, on the water, paper on the tables, and a mallet in your hand. Here's something really fun. Across the water from the restaurant is a boat storage lot. As you sit on the patio eating, look for the HUGE iguanas. You can actually drive to the lot and get very close to them for... more
