Description: Bouillabaisse, the 45-seat, upscale, yet unpretentious new French restaurant in Ft.Lauderdale. The restaurant is owned and operated by entrepreneur/chef Harald Neuweg who also owns the the 250 seat Fritz & Franz Bierhaus in Coral Gables, the new 150 seat Fritz and Franz Bierhaus next door, and the 250 seat Satchmo Lounge upstairs from the Bierhaus and Bouillabaisse. Neuweg who insists on creating an elegant French dining experience without the fussiness and reminiscent of a classic Parisian bistro. The restaurant boasts sublime contemporary French cuisine, featuring local ingredients and utilizing the classical French techniques. White tables draped with crisp, white linens sport fresh flowers bouquets for an aromatic touché. This unpretentious, yet elegant atmosphere is the perfect backdrop for Chef Neuweg’s stellar talents which shine throughout his magnifique menu.

This is a great loss for our city. This restaurant closed for good last Saturday night and they are changing their concept to an Argentenian Bistro, with steaks, fish and a little bit of everything.

I dod not know anything about this restaurant, as had only seen an ad in the paper. When we walked in it is a quaint and nicely decorated establishment where you are able to carry on a conversation without yelling! The waitress and server we has were both nice and attentive. I know it may seem odd to compliment the... More

I'm nearly at a loss for words, even a day after eating here. I had truly decided that good French food was just impossible to find in the wilds of south Florida. Our party of four, gourmands all, each was in their own food heaven for the whole meal (with one exception, which was our less-than-ideal waitress ... but even... More

I visited this restaurant with my husband and another friend in December. The atmosphere was wonderful, nice, quaint, quiet and very French! The maitre'd was very accommodating as was the waiter. I had been wanting Beef Wellington and not many places serve it any more. It was exceptional! There was not a morsel of anything left on any of our... More

We really liked the place. We both love restaurants that do not stray from their roots. I don't want to eat barbacued ribs in a French restaurant. This place is the real deal. We had the Mussel special to start (fantastic)...as good as in Brussels. We had their signature Bouillabaisse for the main and it is as good as any... More

The review I read for this restaurant made us want to visit and dine. The place along Commercial Blvd. looked smart and expensive when we entered. White linens, beautiful stemware and the ever-present Danish shaped dishes. Fresh bread basket with good combination of breads and crackers along with a tray of fresh radishes, celery and carrots were presented. The service... More

From Rudy Tachen's opening greeting at the door to the fresh rose given at the exit, the Bouillabaisse French Bistro offers a true gourmet experience that is unparalled in Ft. Lauderdale. Bouillabaisee is in a strip center at 2881 E. Commercial Blvd. Authenic French offerings are an array of soups laced with cognacs and brandies, appetizers in wine sauces and... More

On balance, I prefer Bouillabaisse to Sage (perhaps very slightly a better value), which I/we have been to numerous times. Bouillabaisse is the one outpost in Fort Lauderdale and maybe beyond flying the flag of classic French cuisine - think butter, creme, and sauce. All the right touches. Bread served warm from the oven with a crudites of celery, carrot... More

Things started badly when we called ahead to say we'd be a few minutes late, only to find no record of our reservation. After grudging permission to come anyway, we found that our friends were already seated and we did have a reservation after all. This kind of disconnect characterizes the food and the service. The menu is old world... More
