On the way to to the airport some friends invited me to dinner at this very nice restaurant. I had the Chilean Sea Bass which was outstanding. One of my friends was a friend of the the owner so he sat with us to join the fun even though the place was crowded. The owner suggested the wine for our... More

We went to the Cafe Italian on a recommendation from friends who own another restaurant in Ft Lauderdale. They said the excellent food quality and atmosphere would truly be an authentic Italian experience. This turned out to be a great experience! We walked in an there was a lady playing the piano with soothing dinner music. The place was tastefully... More

We heard about Cafe Italia from a friend who said it has been in business for 22 years serving old time Italian food. We had dinner there twice and I must admit it reminded me of my younger days in Chicago having dinner in the old neighborhood, small restaurants with the owner walking around making sure everything is going well.... My wife, cousins and I had a wonderful meal in this Fort Lauderdale restaurant that is tucked in a shopping center on federal Highway. We all had good quality wine at a very reasonable price. Then we had salads--again at a very good price. The veal dish I had was very tasty as was the pasta I also had. Very... More

This little place,in a strip mall, would be missed if you weren't looking for it. Nothing fancy about the place but the food is cooked with real Italian heart. The owner goes from table to table, chatting and offering suggestions on the best pick for the evening. I am gluten free and they made me some amazing gluten free pasta.... More

We have eaten here twice. The owner, as I understand it does most of the cooking. It is a family operation. The place is small, the staff is friendly, the food is well like my Aunt Molly made it. Aunt Molly was a great cook. We had one quiet low keyed family dinner and the the Christmas Eve Feast of... More

As an italian, when I'm abroad, I usually don't go in italian restaurants: too often there is nothing except the name! However, I was brought here by somebody that knows the place from many years now and though reluctant, I tried it. What I can say is "You'll find exactly what You can find in a typical italian kitchen and... More

Surprised this place wasn't busier on a Saturday night. The owner spent some time talking to us, and actually told me he wanted to prepare my swordfish differently than on the menu, and it was a great choice. All in all, it was an enjoyable and tasty dinner, in a friendly and comfortable environment.

I have very high standards as people already know. The food here was tasty and good. I ordered fish which was fresh with a side of broccoli. The salad provided was adequate and nothing special. The service was attentive . The restaurant is small and quiet. I went early and I left before any rush hour.

I heard ravings about this restaurant today from one of the chefs at a Ft Lauderdale eatery that I was dining at this afternoon...I am from New England and very picky with Italian food since I tend to make everything home-made myself. I was very eager to dine at the Italian Cafe this evening with my husband. I checked out... More
