A surprisingly fun place for lunch

We negotiated a table out on the deck by the canal, and what an awesome place that was. The food is fine, the service is great, but there's nothing like sitting by the water having a casual lunch with a glass of wine -- and this place delivers. Excellent place to have one of the best seafood I have ever eaten. I had the asopado de marisco, the dish is really good, the taste is incredible, the Brazilian touch makes even more tasteful. The place is also exotic, with good service and excellent view, in the water front, making the dinning even better. Great beer variety! Highly recommended!

As the title says, this was a lot of fun. The only real issue, for me at least, was that I found it extremelymely difficult to find by road. It is accessible by water taxi though. Obviously, Pirate themed, good honest food on a riverside location, reasonably priced.

We spent the day hopping on and off the water taxi in Fort Lauderdale and at the end of the line was the Pirate Republic. What a great place for lunch. Pirate decor was as you'd expect, but well done. I had a pirate bowl, which is a signature dish. It had quite a bit of fish and shellfish for... More

This restaurant is accessible by boat which is how we arrived. There was no dock help but there was amble room and the dock itself was in good shape. The staff is not friendly, they walk around with no smiles, no eye contact. I asked a question about who to see for seating and the waitress told me rudely that... More

So I'm in Florida coming off a midwestern winter in town for work. I just wanted to get close to some water and catch a breeze. Although the PRB wasn't directly on the ocean, the fact that the water taxi kept going by, pirate paraphernalia everywhere, and seafood on the menu I was good to go. It was Sunday and... More

Large restaurant with lots of waterfront space. Prices are way too much and finding a drink special is impossible. Food is decent. The place certainly has a lot of potential though it is hard to find as it is on the south side of the river away from everything else and can't walk to downtown without having to backpedal over... A restaurant couldn't have a better location than this one , as it sits on the New River in the heart of Fort Lauderdale's Riverwalk district . It's views are amazing of boats passing by as well as manatees and the train bridge lowers to allow long freight trains full of limestone rock to cross the river . The selection... More

Four of us dined here recently and unfortunately, we weren't impressed with our overall experience. We arrived via the Water Taxi at about 6:30 and the place wasn't too crowded at all, so no wait. A positive - our server was friendly and delivered food and drinks as they were ready. We has a variety of food and drink, including... More
