Good seafood, great location

We took the water taxi to this great spot and had a table right on the water. Service was quick, friendly and helpful. I ordered the pirate bowl and it was spot on delicious. Very relaxing watching all the boat traffic. The only thing I can fault the facility with is sad, worn dirty bathroom.

After a nearly 4 hours ride in a water taxi, we dropped in very hungry and thirsty. It was a great pleasure to have a fantastic seafood platter in this restaurant. We enjoyed this place, we got an impression of Fort Lauderdale, boats came in for lunch and on the other side of the river we could admire strange animals.... More

We ate outside on a cool night. The service was good and the food average. The location on the river was great and we took the water taxi. The parking is free and close. This was our 3rd visit to this place and I will go back again.

It was pretty slow...like the place was almost completely empty on a Wednesday night. Good food. We shared the Pirate Bowl and it was delicious. Water side dock dining was great. Fantastic place would definitely go back! Arrrrrgh!

We happened to stumble upon the Pirate Republic on the day of the Christmas boat parade. We were seated on the 2nd floor, and had commanding views of the Intra-coastal waterway during the parade. The food is excellent. Very reasonably priced, too.

Pirate Republic looks like an ordinary theme bar. But, the menu is exceptional. The menu features a lot of seafood inspired by Brazil and the Islands. We have only eaten the seafood, but all of the dishes we have eaten have been excellent. You might skip the starters and definitely the bread, but definitely visit this place. And, if you... More

Have not been in Fort Lauderdale for years, so we when we visited this month took some friends to the Pirate Republic and they really loved it. We sat on the dock and watched the boats, the people and the train draw bridge. The staff was friendly and helpful. But most importantly, the food was very good. I know some... More

DO NOT DRINK HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am an outside salesperson. frequently I meet customers for lunch and cocktails during the day to conduct business. Based on a friends reviews of this restaurant and my desire for some unique menu options, I made the suggestion to meet at the bar here for a late lunch and cocktails. This location used to be... I live close to Pirate Republic and it seems they change the menu often. This time the food and service was better then 6 months ago. They added a large canopy over the dock eating area and I can see the advantage in rainy season but I also felt like we were eating in a cave more than outside. I... More

Thank you for your review. After numerous requests over many years, we added the outside tents to shield from rain and the hot South Florida sun. Should you prefer to not have cover, please call ahead to make a reservation and ask for table 1, which is uncovered. I'm pleased you enjoyed our current menu and we look forward to... More

Confession first - I LOVE local, quirky, one of a kind places. Especially Old Florida places. This one fits the bill. There are kitschy Pirate mannequins, reminiscent of the population of Pirates of the Caribbean at Disney World, a real parrot and even a pool for the kids to enjoy while the parents eat. Lots of tables waterside on the... More
