I have written a very positive review in the past for Gilbert's, unfortunately it doesn't look like we're going to be able to eat there now that we have a gluten allergy in the family. I called to inquire about whether or not they offer a gluten-free bun and a woman whom I know to be one of the owners... More

We were in Fort Lauderdale for one night before a cruise. We were tired and just wanted to grab a quick bite. Finding Gilbert’s close by on Trip Advisor was a great find. Small and casual was just what we needed. We were surprised by the personal welcome by the owner Lenore and her husband. We all ordered what we... More

The Gilbert family has a perfect concept. Excellent quality, great preparation, reasonable prices, undaunting hospitality. Not only are the burgers the best of quality and preparation, but so is everything on the menu. One of our routine stops in Fort Lauderdale.

Four of us met for lunch. We sat down at one of the three outdoor tables, but realized that you need to go in and order, and then they bring the food to your table when it is ready. The drinks are self-serve like a fast food joint. There is enough variety on the limited menu to appease most diners.... More

I would tend to agree. You order at the counter, find a table and they will bring your food out. I had a blue cheese stuffed hamburger with fresh cut French fries. Perfectly cooked. Very tasty meat and fresh bun. They have a varied menu, from fresh fish to BBQ. It is definitely a casual place, but don't let that... More

My husband and I like to visit Gilbert's when we are in Ft Lauderdale for a great hamburger. Unfortunately, on our recent visit last week I apparently got bad advice from the nice and seemingly-helpful counter woman who took our orders. My husband likes his burgers pretty rare; I'm just the opposite. So she suggested I order mine "medium-well." What... More

Immediately when we walked through the front door we were greeted by the owner. She was exceptionally hospitable and informative of the menu. Loved the food, we see why it is so loved by Floridians. Pesto burger was delicious. Goat cheese burger was amazing per my my husband and the Hickory was a hit with our teenage daughter.

This is a burger joint. Nothing exciting. We just ordered burgers. Both burgers that we ordered were way way under cooked. We both ordered medium and what we got was very rare. We waited long enough and then the food came and we didn't feel like sending it back. We just ate the edges and not the middle. (we didn't... More
