Calling for a reservation, a nice woman took my details. When I asked her name, she replied, "I'm Lenore, Lenore Gilbert, I own the restaurant." Not only Lenore, but her entire staff radiated personal warmth and welcome. Lenore walked around to all of the tables, to inquire seriously if everything is good, and interacted with all of her diners. Gilbert's... More

After reading so many great reviews, our expectations were much higher for this restaurant than we found the reality to be. Mrs. Gilbert welcomed us upon entering, and she was gracious and friendly. She gave us several tips as it was our first visit, including if you want your hamburger bun toasted, order it that way. You order at the... More

The place is incredibly clean, the staff is excellent and the burgers are second to none. They have a blue cheese burger that has the cheese inside the beef.... More expensive than your average burger but this won't be an average burger. You won't regret going here.

My wife and I went to Gilbert's because of the great reviews. She had the Bacon Cheeseburger with sweet potato fries and I ordered the half rack of Baby Back Ribs with french fries. My wife ordered her Burger medium. When it arrived at the table it was obvious that it was not medium. The bottom half of the bun... More

Gilbert's is close to my business so I go there a fair amount, I have to agree that the price is a bit high but the quality I have always receive is excellent. I do not eat a lot of burgers any more but when I do I go there! What I do get is the Portobello sandwich or the... More

You will not find a better burger in Florida...hands down no questions asked. Whenever I travel to Fort Lauderdale, I make a point of coming here. Been going to Gilbert's for years and it is consistently good. Best burgers ever. The chicken and salmon are cooked fresh with each order. The homemade quiche is fabulous but you have to be lucky since it is not always available.

From sandwiches to grilled fish, you will love this NY style dinner type eatery. Not pretentious or fancy, but really tasty freshly prepared foods. You place your order at the counter and go to your table. From then on you have a waiter to bring your food and anything else you need. Family run and the owners are usually around... More

We're Brits who have been fortunate to be in Fort Lauderdale a couple of times a year in the last few years. And when we are in town we never skip Gilberts. Latest visit (2 days ago) took us straight from the airport to collect our take away and the burger with onions and mushrooms was as good as ever.... More
