flew into FLL with limited time and an appetite. Found Gilbert's on TRIP. Ordered salmon special (with a spicy sauce) and asked for sweet potato fries. the counterman said "it comes with Cambodian Slaw - it's very good". "sure - why not?". both excellent !!!! great find - I'll be back

Awesome! You won’t be disappointed!! Let me start by saying that this restaurant is cafeteria style….with that being said, we were greeted and attended to immediately, very prompt and curious. You order your food and the servers will bring it to you. The servers were very attentive, always checking in with you. Overall a good experience.

Saturday night it was just beautiful out so we decided to take the Harley and head down to Gilberts and see what all the fuss was about. I mean it was just a hamburger joint, not! This place you could eat off the floor it was so clean and well run and everyone including Mr Gilbert himself was so polite... More

Mrs. Gilbert certainly was gregarious and helpful, and even gave my wife a pair of reading glasses to use to look over the menu. And the staff was over the top helpful, refilling our drinks, getting ketchup for us and whatnot (during our extended wait for our food). But overall our experience was not great. My "medium" burger, which took... More

We stopped in for lunch while attending a conference at a nearby hotel. We were met at the counter by Mr. Gilbert, the owner who explained the ordering process and that they always use the freshest ingredients, meats and vegetables in preparation of their meals. Ordering went smoothly and the service was exceptional. I ordered the split pea soup (excellent!),... More

Calling for a reservation, a nice woman took my details. When I asked her name, she replied, "I'm Lenore, Lenore Gilbert, I own the restaurant." Not only Lenore, but her entire staff radiated personal warmth and welcome. Lenore walked around to all of the tables, to inquire seriously if everything is good, and interacted with all of her diners. Gilbert's... More

After reading so many great reviews, our expectations were much higher for this restaurant than we found the reality to be. Mrs. Gilbert welcomed us upon entering, and she was gracious and friendly. She gave us several tips as it was our first visit, including if you want your hamburger bun toasted, order it that way. You order at the... More

The place is incredibly clean, the staff is excellent and the burgers are second to none. They have a blue cheese burger that has the cheese inside the beef.... More expensive than your average burger but this won't be an average burger. You won't regret going here.

My wife and I went to Gilbert's because of the great reviews. She had the Bacon Cheeseburger with sweet potato fries and I ordered the half rack of Baby Back Ribs with french fries. My wife ordered her Burger medium. When it arrived at the table it was obvious that it was not medium. The bottom half of the bun... More

Gilbert's is close to my business so I go there a fair amount, I have to agree that the price is a bit high but the quality I have always receive is excellent. I do not eat a lot of burgers any more but when I do I go there! What I do get is the Portobello sandwich or the... More
