Property looks abandoned. There was no sign to indicate possible re-opening. We didn't try Mutineers, the nearby seafood restaurant.

We were staying in the hotel half a block away and asked about it, and they said it was closed permanently. It looked it.

The place doesn't look like anything special from the outside, and the interior is very casual, but the food was excellent! All kinds of fresh seafood.

I love my trips to the Captain's Restaurant in Florida City. I've eaten here dozens of times at tried almost everything on the menu. All good. Their lobster bisque is good. Their Hogfish sandwich and Grouper sandwich are also my personal favorites. The Everglades dinner dish is by far my favorite if visiting for dinner. Great affordable seafood

I hadn't been the the Captain's Restaurant in quite few months so decided to go there for an early dinner. The restaurant itself is sadly lacking in atmosphere unlike its sister restaurant The Captain's Tavern in Miami. The restaurant in Miami is heaving with nautical kitsch while the one in Florida City is just plain barren: one vast room with... More

Plain place with a broad menu, and very good conch chowder. But everything else was just average. Service was somewhat slow. Convenient location.

The hotel clerk has suggested this place so we gave it try, glad we did, the seafood was great, service was great, quick, they have a very large menu of mostly seafood, but what we had was great, prices were in line with everything else, would recommend this place for some great seafood, nice place.

I have been wanting to eat at Captains for some time and finally found the time to visit. I am so glad I did. We started with the lobster bisque soup which was delicious. Our very nice server told us it was the best she has ever tasted, and she was right. The soup is very thick and full of... More
