The lobster corn dogs used to be very crunchy, with light batter, served in a shrimp dish. Last week, the lobster corn dog was served on a plate with 3 dollops of cocktail sauce. It wasn't crunchy. The presentation was not nearly as attractive or tasty. Used to love 29 South.

We went for Brunch on Sunday, recommended from a friend and it was great. Charming place. Food was great, big meals, great service, and was good for a kid as well. Save room for dessert !! The donuts and coffee is amazing!! Not what you think it will be!!

Small restaurant with excellent service. We started with the fried green tomatoes and romain salad. Both prepared perfectly. For dinner my wife enjoyed the scallops and I had the Shrimp and grits. Don't know why people complain about this dish. It was so good. Loved the sausage and the types of shrimps. Great sauce too. For dessert we loved the... More

I stayed on the island for vacation. It was a bit hard to find good food on the island. Once I found 29 South I knew I found good food on the island. 29 South has their own garden and fresh foods are selected around the garden variety. The green beans that came with my meal were sweet, crunchy, and... More

Excellent food and great vegetarian choices. My wife had polenta in a jar, which she loved so much we came back on our last night to eat there again. I have been searching the web, trying to find that recipe. I had scallops the first night and striped bass the 2nd night. Wonderful dishes

We stopped here for lunch after our first choice was closed. The hostess was a bit rude and told us there were zero tables available, even though the restaurant was 3/4 empty. We started to leave and got yelled at saying they had just found an outside table for us. We found it challenging to find healthy options for lunch.... More

We were here for dinner last night, September 5th. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits partially because of the pictures and comments on trip advisor. I thought they average at best . Not enough grits relative to sauce. Kind of like grit soup. Could barely get a fork full without them falling through the fork. (Note: I had a grit... More

We were in Fernandina Beach over the Labor Day weekend. Our hotel was right around the corner from 29 South, so we decided to give it a try. We did not have reservations, so they asked that we come back in 45 minutes; it was worth the wait. Delicious, creative food, nice wine selection and friendly staff make 29 South... More

The food is quite good. Neither the service or the decor measure up to the food. The fried chicken is a must.
