We really enjoyed our food at 29 South, especially the shrimp and grits! Outstanding - as was the seafood and corn chowder. The fried green tomatoes were also excellent. The grouper special was good but they should have mentioned that you only got 2 ounces or so - we were surprised at how small the portion was especially considering the... More

We did not realize how important reservations were on a Sat. night. Our first choice La Espagna was booked till 9 pm. So we walked over to 29th st. where we have eaten before. Although we saw good tables on the porch and inside, Dimitri, manager, said they were all reserved. First we were seated in front of the bathrooms,... More

Our dinner was great! We had the scallops and the pork chop. The sauce with the pork chop was excellent. We had a great server who was very attentive and had great suggestions. I would definitely go back!

After a long day on the road we just walked in and grabbed a table outside. Great weather. The fried chicken was awesome and very good take on shrimp and grits.

After several recommendations, we decided to try 29 South for breakfast. What a disappointment! I ordered the pulled pork Benedict and had to spit out several bites of the pork. It was too fatty and the sauce was disgusting. My husband ordered a chicken frittata and he didn't have any chicken in any of his bites until he was half... More

We ate twice in a week at this eclectic spot. Last Saturday our waitress was wonderful, a tad busy and forgetful, but made up for her lack of attentiveness with humor!! The food was outstanding! Yesterday's meal was a miss. A lackadaisical waiter doesn't make for a good start. We had to ask for the bread which was served without... More

Our experience here was very good. The food was delicious and the server attentive. There wasn't a huge selection of desserts, but our main meal was excellent. The one negative is everything is a la carte. We ate outside and there was a cat meandering around which I didn't particularly like. I would say it's the best place to eat... More

On our way from North Carolina to Florida we decided to have brunch in Fernandina Beach, and since it was raining, we did not want to waste time looking for places. So coming from NC, we ended up in a “Southern style restaurant” of all places – and it was simply fabulous. The prices were very reasonable, the local beer... More

Small portions and a bit pricy but interesting taste combinations. Male waiter was a little pompous and inattentive. Guest at table beside us walked out after he failed to come back to their table for at least 10 minutes after seating them.
