We happened to visit Cedar River when they were overwhelmed with customers. Their all you can eat meals are a big draw and the crowds were there. There were only two servers working, and they tried hard to keep up. One was actually running from table to kitchen. We waited over 30 minutes for our meals but understood why. The... More

Good food, good price, good beach atmosphere. The upstairs veranda was comfortable and the life music downstairs added the atmosphere. It was also very kid friendly.

Used to frequent the restaurant often. It has really gone downhill. The seafood is substandard. Not fresh, and it all tastes the same. I had a shrimp and scallop combo. Both were dry and tough. The best thing about my lunch was the salad. The service was HORRIBLE. The floors are carpeted with the same carpet they has when they... More

This is as good of a good ol' fried seafood place as you will find anywhere. Cedar River is the very definition of old Florida or southeastern coast seafood joints. Awesome service and the portions are enormous for the price. The seafood platters as well as the ctab kegs were cooked to perfection and the loaded baked potatoe is baked... More

This is not a "real" seafood place in my opinion. It is a fried seafood haven. I am sorry that we went there. The server was very good, but the food was average fried food. There was nothing special about eating here. It is more of a tourist trap. Go to the Dairy Queen for dessert, that was probably the... More

Very Good Food. Great Value. So much flounder. No way one person can finish. Nothing fancy. The locals go there so you know it is good. They need to fix the sign outside so it lights up. Very much recommend

We have been to Amelia Island a number of times and have our favorite restaurants. We decided to try Cedar River the night before Thanksgiving. It was very quiet and casual. The servers were very attentive and polite. The food was okay. There was a huge portion for the money, that I will say, but nothing about the taste of... More

This is a busy seafood eatery. The food is bested fried and the broiled seafood has been overcooked. There is a good selection of sides besides the usual slaw and fries. Not much atmosphere. I have eaten here many times over the years and will go back.

Food was simple, but well-prepared and plentiful. The servers were pleasant and accommodating to our family group that included two small children. We were there on a weeknight and business was steady. The building is dated and smells damp and musty, so carryout might something to consider.

Our "go to' place for seafood on Amelia Island. Not much on decor or ambiance, but they make up for it in the food served. Always fresh, hot and plentiful. Prices well below the fancier places. Had their fried scallops last time and it was more than I could eat. 2 sides are available with each dinner and I usually... More
