Fried and Go!

If you like to dine with the older folks in a setting of an old rotary club then this is for you, not me. Order dinner to go and like the title says; buy fried and go! Nothing special here. Affordable prices, enough to quell the hunger but given the choices on the island one can skip this place... read more

Just an average little seafood joint. The waitresses seemed to be a little frazzled - nice, but frazzled. Almost a little dark and gloomy. You get a lot of food, which is good, and the price is consistent with other restaurants in the area.

Every time someone tells me they like eating here I can't help but ask them why. This is a place where a lot of seniors go, my grandmother loves this place. I've been several times and tried again recently at her suggestion to give it another shot. Money wasted. The place looks the same as when I was a kid,... More

We ate at Cedar River because it was walking distance to our hotel. I would never recommend anyone eat there. The person who seated us was gruff and proceeded to slam the table against the wall so it wouldn't wobble. I know we should have left then, but we were tired and didn't. Grouper was strong and fishy. Sweet potatoes... More

If you like fried seafood and reasonable prices, this is the place to go. Large portions so don't over order. Great hush puppies and the scallops were very good. Only alcohol is beer and limited wine.

We arrived 1 hour before closing. There was food all over the floor everywhere: big chunks of lettuce and other smaller stuff. Since we had walked there from our hotel and the restaurant was empty and it was 9:00 we stayed anyway based on reviews. Our waitress took quite a while and was less than enthusiastic we were there. She... More

Excellent greasy seafood. Fried anything is good. Fried shrimp; fried oysters; fried fish, etc. No atmosphere. Bright lights. Formica tables. Drinks and beer available. Just lots of good fried seafood. Don't eat for a week before you go!

We had supper at Cedar River last night and were very pleased. My elder teen thought it looked "unpromising" from the outside, and I will admit that the ambiance is not a high priority. But the food was tasty! I had the friend shrimp, clam strips, and oysters with a baked potato and coleslaw. The seafood was quite good (although... More

For well prepared and succulent seafood other restaurants might be a better choice. Our orders of fried shrimp, scallops, and clam strips were rather on the chewy side.
