It's ok, certainly not as good as the staff thinks it is. Not bad, but not a spot I'll go back to. Interior is dark and dated, small crowd even on Labor Day weekend Menu is a strange mix, no theme per say

My wife and I always go to Plae when we come down to Amelia. The meals are wonderful , and the service is fantastic. Our server , Heather , is as good as you can get ! She is friendly , personable, attentive, gives good suggestions and is a true asset to the restaurant. We always ask for her when... More

After getting the kids to bed and with grandparents willing to sit with them, my wife and I headed out to a late dinner. The historic district of Fernandina Beach has a number of great local restaurants, but with time limited, we decided to stick close to our condo at the Amelia Island Plantation and go to PLAE (People Laughing... Had a pleasant dinner here on a Saturday night. Atmosphere was nice, service was good, and the live music (jazz piano) was pleasant. Food was ok but not great. Overl average but not outstanding

Tired from the moment we walked up. It's August and they still have dead poinsettias pots in front. Also walk up to an old fake pond (looks like a putt-putt pond). walked into an overpowering odor. I still can't put my finger on it...old fryer oil maybe. Let me sum this up by saying...took 20 minutes to bring us a... More

My adult daughter and I ate dinner here twice during our stay. We had salmon, shrimp, duck, and also truffle fries. All were yummy. They seated a large group of us without reservations one night, which was really great.

Came for some small plates. $20 for two burnt scallops and raw bacon. Fried calamari rings, no tentacles, with sweet chili sauce out of a jar. Not what I was expecting for these prices. My wife liked the shrimp pasta.

This was our third time at PLAE. The menu has changed a bit, but the essence remains. Fun starters and small plates, wonderful salads, and a wide variety of entrees. The minor nits: they eliminated most of the "jar" foods, including the wonderful fish spread, and the complimentary "bread" (allegedly an Italian recipe) underwhelmed. Now the good. The space is... Great restaurant with a fun atmosphere. Menu changes a lot and always awesome. We go out of our way to eat there when we are on the island. Enjoy anything on the menu. Great for couples but lots of fun for a group of friends.
