We were visiting from San Francisco and were looking for a fantastic experience to celebrate a special birthday. The Black Pearl exceeded our expectations. The restaurant is located in small space in downrown Dunedin. The food was exceptional and the service was knowledgable and friendly, yet not overbearing. The wine list is small, but well chosen and well priced. We... More

This is one of the best meals we have had. You get what you pay for that is for sure! This small restaurant has a limited number of tables, You need to make reservations! They have table cloths and is a very upscale meal and service!!! Very quiet and intimate dining. Will be back soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haven't eaten here for a year and while the ownership has changed, the chef has not. Still the best restaurant in Dunedin and likely one of the very best in the region. While this fine dinning room is a tad expensive, its worth every penny.

Great little place to have a nice upscale dinner with a loved one or friends and family. Service is spot on and the food is excellent. This is not a place to go if you want a regular dining experience. This is fine dining. A place for special occasions and romantic dinners.

Dunedin locals know the Black Pearl, but if you are visiting and looking for a top notch dining spot - check it out. Great for a romantic or intimate meal (I proposed to my wife there!). Excellent food and the best service I have had in the area. The chef keeps it fresh with new specials all the time. Looking... More

I have heard of The Black Pearl for many years, but never ate there. Some friends took me out for a belated birthday dinner and it blew my expectations away. The restaurant is small, but has a lot of materials to keep noise levels down. It was easy to have a conversation with the 4 other people at the table.... More
