The Green Owl, AKA "Denny's on Atlantic" has got to be one of the most overrated restaurants in town. It must be the lack of alternatives that keeps this place going because the food is very basic and over priced and the service is generally less than friendly. My wife and I visit the Delray Beach area very often to visit with family, so we are no strangers to the Atlantic Avenue/A1A scene. Unfortunately my partner and I had unpleasant experience with the staff at the Green Owl. On a recommendation from a friend we went there for lunch and were totally surprised at the rudeness or for that matter the insensitivity of the staff to recognize some customers special needs. Waited over 1 hour for breakfast and not once did the waitress update or apologize. The food as OK. IHOP would have been way better. Went there yesterday, Sunday April 13. Sure it was packed and there's still no excuse for the lack of good service. more

This place is very familiar to those who frequent Delray Beach. Their breakfast is most likely what they are better known for. I have to say I have never had a bad breakfast here whether eggs, pancakes or french toast - it is all delicious and made just right! Lunches here have been iffy...this past time the egg-salad was warm... more

Great breakfast ... service is fast and they are very friendly . This is a local diner style cafe with counter seating available . Gets very crowded on weekends so make plans . Great things come in small packages . more

Twice we have received extremely rude service from a waitress there and after today will never step foot in the restaurant again, nor will any of our friends or church members.
