A Decent French Restaurant

My wife, son and I had dinner there. There were some real hits and a few near misses. Overall, worth the money. My Branzini was great. Prepared and seasoned perfectly. My wife loved the Coq au Vin although I though the one we cooked at home was a bit better and there were no pearl onions. My... read more

My husband and I went there a few weeks ago for the first time and we really liked it, so we decided to go again a week later.. While we were waiting at the bar for our table, we saw a cockroach walk accross the bar in front of us.. Of course we did not stay and was pretty disgusted..... More

Six of us went had a fabulous time . Service was the best along with great choice of "tapas" that ranged from oysters to flatbread pizza, all priced at $6. Need I say more! Go enjoy and leave happy!

Several delicious malbecs at Happy Hour then onto dinner. Fantastic service. I have never ever eaten a Snapper as served with tail. The most delicious and appetizing over a bed of spinach. My other half enjoyed three lamb chops which were cooked rare as requested. Dining here many times over the past few years and always enjoyed consistent french-continental gourmet... More

The acoustics are horrible, as you can't hear you guests, this is a big problem that they need to address with some fabric to break the sound! Food is kind of over the top with spices, as it spoils the flavor of the fish or meat. tried several dishes and even the Dover Sole smells fishy?? Was very good before... More

Last nite, Friday, we 4 youngsters went. We are 89, 85,84,and 82. we know young people enjoy noise; we don't. 3 0f us have hearing aids and we turned them off. Now for the pleasant information. We were greeted very warmly, we were seated at our reservation time - 7:15 PM. The waiter was there immediately to take our drink... More

I was at their grand opening many years ago and years later they continue to maintain the highest standards for food, service and ambience. Try the grilled artichoke, tuna, sole, or any of the regionally inspired standards, they are all excellent. Let the tourists have the over priced stuff on the Avenue, this is the real thing.

There were no entrees under $32 and we chose coq au vin and duck with a sweet sauce. Neither of them were prepared French style-- the duck was not crispy as promised and the coq au vin was over cooked As well as the vegetables that accompanied the dinner. The only French component was the waiter and the maître D!... More

My wife and I revisited La Cigale and, as usual, had not only a great meal but also excellent service under the watchful eye of the owner. The quality and presentation of the Bronzini was very good. Also the Salmon was cooked the way my wife had requested. The Calvados flambé apple tart was very enjoyable. The Pouilly-Fuiseé was good... More

Three of us had the pleasure of dining here while in Delray---La Cigale is not on the tourist circuit and has a loyal following--so reservations recommended. Based on the variety of our orders--most anything on the menu can be ordered with confidence. A big hit.
