Tapas - great place to try new dishes

Restaurant tapas were varied & I was able to try some things I had never eaten. Everything was attractively served & it was fun to share tapas with my friend and spend a long time relaxing & eating. I absolutely love De La Vega and have to stop in at least once a week. The customer service is always fantastic, and the food is always amazing. It's almost too pretty to eat! There are a lot of vegetarian and vegan options available which is quite unusual for the local area.

I take all out of town guests and first dates here. It is a solid restaurant. Tapa's are outstanding. Took my foodie Niece here who is from Seatle and she was impressed.

I brought my girls with me for a mommy and daughters night out. I was kind of worried if they'd like anything. They mad a fun face shape with the kids food. What a great idea! My dish was superb! Fresh, full of flavor. Our server was very knowable and helped us pick out some appetizers and our dishes.

I visited this restaurant for lunch with two friends who had been here several times. Like others, we were in Deland for the WIldflower Festival. My friends knew how to order. The menu was very unique. We started with the Plantain soups and shared some tapas. One tapas featured cactus and the other hibiscus. Everything was very flavorful. There was... More

I ordered the Dinner meal of Huachinango a la Veracruzana ($ 17), a lime-marinated grouper in sauce. Since every prior piece of grouper (we have had plenty living in Florida 27 years) I have had was thick in comparison to most other fish, I was anticipating the same this time. Instead, I got a disappointing thin portion (likely only 4... More

A friend and I happened upon this place while attending the Wildflower Festival... and it was a treat! We both found the food to be delicious. We sat outdoors since it was a beautiful day (didn't see the inside of the restaurant so can't comment on it). I started with a cup of the plantain soup since it sounded interesting.... More

Hubby and his cousin and I went to lunch today. We arrived at 1 or so and Deland was having a garden fair/festival. They were busy but we were seated immediately inside. I ordered the Nopalitos and they were good. I ate the Plantain Enmoladas and they were great except that the "bed of rice" under the Enmoladas was almost... More

I met a friend here on a Friday and we sat outside - I had eaten here once before and found the food delicious - We both ordered the Fishadas dish - we also enjoyed a glass of wine. When the waitress brought the food ,it looked wonderful but on my first bite, there was a long black hair in... More

Dear customer, I am the owner of De La Vega and first of all let me apologize for having such a bad experience at the restaurant the other day. Unfortunately, I was not there to talk to you but I can assure you that Ashley (your server) was very concerned and she did talk to me about the incident that... More

Sidewalk seating is a pleasure but not with yapping dogs at adjacent tables. Food is very average and a surprise glass of wine is unusually priced. Unless you know this place, go to Santorini's.....wish I had.
