The restaurant in an old home, built in 1910. It has recently been restored to accentuate it's original beauty and craftsmanship. It is warm and homey, just like home. The beautiful stained glass windows are the homes original windows. The grounds are landscaped with lush green and colorful plants.

Came here for the first time. Wow, what a great meal. The buffet style all you can eat. The only drawback is you are limited to 1 serving of meat. You can pay more for a 2nd helping. They had 5 meats to choose from. Everything else is unlimited servings. The desserts all looked good, again limited to 1 but... More

My husband and I ate at Cook's for the first time tonight and we loved it! We are both stuffed; the food was outstanding and the carver gave us plenty of meat! I had the fish and my husband had the ham, but they also had three other meet choices. The veggies and salad bar were also filled with plenty... More

First time there and I was impressed. Food was good-which was buffet style. THEY serve you the meat-but you go and get as much salad and veggies as you'd like. You pay extra for drink, soup and dessert. Which was fine with me. The Waitress-Stephanie was such a nice waitress! The co-owner came to our table to check on things... More

This is not your usual buffet. You may help yourself to as much salad and vegetables as you want but you may only select one of the four meats offered. My wife select the cod filet and said it was very tasty but wished it had been hotter. I selected roast beef and was served 4 nice slices by the... More

My wife & I were driving thru Deland and decided to stop at Cook's Buffet for lunch since the restaurant looked appealing from the outside. We were impressed with the variety of home cooked food & enjoyed our dining experience until we had to use the restrooms. The foul odor (smell of sewage) made us nauseous and, consequently, were unable... More

This was my second time there. My first time was last year, it was kind of embarrassing changing my child infront of everyone on a booth. I brought it up to one of the workers. We returned and I noticed a changing table! I was so happy that someone listened to me! The food is excellent and I love the... More

The food seemed to be of good quality and very tasty but I sure could have used another slice or two of their wonderful roast beef. The initial serving was small and there is a charge for seconds. The mashed potatoes were incredible as were the mashed sweet potatoes. The salad ingredients were rather generic but very tasty. I don't... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. If I could, I would like to respond to two issues. 1. Regarding the portions of our meats, as you can see in previous reviews, that most customers think that the portions are generous. Very rarely, do people have room for another portion. 2. As to the generic salad bar,... More

We met friends from Iowa here for lunch. It was an excellent buffet, fresh salad bar and nice vegetable selection. There is an upcharge for an extra serving of meat but the first serving was very generous so we didn't need another serving. The bread served right from the oven was delicious as was the lemon meringue pie. We will... More
