Low-key atmosphere, great food

I'll start with the positive: the servers were friendly and it's close to the beach. Now the negative: The food was way too salty--I like salt on my food, but this was over the top. I had the crab cake caesar, and my husband had the dolphin fingers and fries. The crab cakes were more cake than crab. The dolphin... More

We had to wait an hour for our table but they let you leave and walk around the local shops so that's cool. The bar / entrance area is busy and the bar area can be loud with people having fun and drinking a few ales! We were shown our table in a nice quiet corner of the restaurant but... More

We were driving down the coast and stopped in looking for some Seafood. The staff and the food was great at a reasonable price. Would highly recommend this place if you are in the area and if not, it just may be worth the drive!! Certainly not a tourist trap!

Was in the area and as usual we always try to eat local. A friend who lives here suggested the Whales Rib so we met her for dinner. We went during the week, off season, at 5:30 PM. We had no wait at all. I got the fried shrimp with Whale Fries which were essentially home made potato chips!! Sooooo... More

Whales rib is a long standing favorite of locals and tourists alike. Lots of fried food but the dolphin sandwich is fantastic as are stone crabs when in season.

Small beach restaurant with world famous food. I will crave the Whale Fries and Blackened Dolphin sandwhich until I am in town again next year!

I have come here a couple of times. The first time was better than the second. The second time around the stuffed clams were not as good and neither was the fresh baked dolphin (I was missing the crusty part on top that is sooo good). The clam chowder is really good and is actually the only clam chowder I'll... More

This is a restaraunt that we return to year after year when we visit. The menu is superb. We always get the Dolphin Sandwich. This time we started our meal out with an order of Rock Shrimp and finished it with Key Lime Pie. We love this place. Rhonda was our server and she was friendly, helpful, and very attentive.

Unless you want to wait 2 hours for a mediocre dinner, I'd skip this place. Couldn't find any lobster in the lobster bisque nor was there any crab in the crabmeat stuffing of the baked shrimp. The shrimp were tiny and dry. The coconut shrimp was mostly breading with tiny shrimp. The best part of the meal were the Whale... More
