Only drive on beach

Love love love being able to drive on the beach! It makes it so much easier with kids to be able to drive right on the beach. You can also rent chairs with umbrellas right on the beach and they will move them back if the tide comes in too far!

if you are not staying in a hotel in Daytona Beach that has beach access, drive further down until all the large hotels end. You will then come to Wilbur by the Sea where there is free public parking and beach access, toilets and water to wash the sand away. The beach is very large and loads of space. A... More

No need to visit unless your going to a NASCAR race. Everything is overpriced and not family friendly. Myrtle Beach is more affordable, has more restaurants, and more family attractions.

We stayed at the Mariott Beachfront and enjoyed long walks up and down the beach. A special treat was the arrival of the ice cream truck each afternoon. A relaxing stay.

We were served by Anthony and be was one of the better servers of any restaurants we have been to. Very attentive and you can tell he loves his job. The food was excellent. The shrimp cocktail is superb. Cooked to perfection. Our entrées were the Shrimp Trio and Grilled Tilapia. Both were very good. A wonderful dinner was topped... More

I liked staying right on the beach at an old style Mom & Pop place, with lots of modern condos around. Nice pool, easy access to beach. Well kept, flat panel TV, clean, inexpensive. This was in S.Daytona Beach. Here for the 24 HOUR OF ROLEX race. I shopped at Volusia Mall across from the track. Lots of good hotels... More

I travel here each year and really enjoy the beaches and touring around the little shops in town. I always have had a great experience here and have great trips every time I go.

Daytona is going downhill fast. It can no longer just pay the bills on bike week and spring break. It you must go there, stay-eat on the far south area around South Daytona/ Port Orange. The north area of Ormond is OK but restaurants are poor. (Daytona native)
