All of this is served up in a comfortable dining room with black booths, red tablecloths and a number of pieces of Italian art and movie photos on the wall. By Barbara but here goes. I was born in Daytona Beach and grew up there. I visit often because my parents still live in Ormond. I've eaten at Don Vito's multiple times over the past few years and I'm honestly shocked that this restaurant has been the number one restaurant in Daytona for so long. The food is ok... Honestly... Dearest Shining – Your Quite Welcome!! As I've said many times, if there is EVER anything wrong let us know and it WILL BE fixed. That being said, I believe this review is phoney as are the claims from Queens Boy. You are probably not from Earth, much less Queens. We think we know exactly who you are!! I am... More

After seeing the owners response to a review that was kind of silly in talking about it having a musky smell, dark and only four tables occupied, I just had to eat there. Being from a large Italian family, familiar with the hand me down recipes and the outgoing care for pleasing others I thought it could not measure up.... More

We discovered Don Vito's last week. Barbara, the owner kindly greeted us, and said, "welcome to my home." We had a nice chat with her, Barbara's husband Jimmy and another family member, Mark. After about 5 minutes, it was like we had known them all our lives. My husband ordered veal frace (sp?) and I had the shrimp marinara -... More

The food was great, the staff was wonderful... But the restaurant need updating. It has a musky smell and is very dark inside. When we were there only 4 or the 15ish tables were taken.

Dearest Monica - I'm sorry you felt compelled to use your very first and ONLY review since you signed up to Tripadvisor in 2004, to apply a #2 Rating for your visit to Don Vito's? Lucky us!! Quite frankly I don't understand your comment about “Musky smells in the restaurant. People talk about the wonderful smell of garlic, meatballs and... More

This is our second trip to the restaurant and the food is great! This is a family run restaurant and the people are very personable and friendly. Very laid-back with delicious food and great atmosphere. A new staple on our Daytona trips!

Only one word describes our dining experience at Don Vito's.....sensational! Owners Jim and Barb are very personable, and they along with their sons are to say the least, passionate about their food, which was outstanding. This is a small, family owned and operated restaurant. When we arrived, six of the approximately fourteen tables were already reserved. We would definitely recommend... More

The downtown location had a few homeless people hanging out so we were kinda thrown off with that and usually a really good restaurant has more than 2 other people in it at 7 pm on a weekend night. We walked in and were immediately greeted with a nice lady with a warm smile, we hesitated and then saw the... More

As we were leaving Daytona on a Sunday night we came upon Don Vito's and after a quick check on trip advisor revealed it was #1 restaurant we figured let's give it a try. As we entered the location the decor reminded me of being in a italian restaurant in NYC during the 70's nothing fancy but enough to feel... More

You probably don't expect to find an extraordinary Italian restaurant in Daytona Beach, but you are in for a wonderful surprise. Family owned and operated, the food is exceptional, and the service adds to the experience. The owner sat at our table and discussed the menu. The prices are surprisingly reasonable. This place is a hidden gem.
