I give this a 3 instead of 1 because our first time last year I gave it a 5, and expect had we stayed until we were noticed and served (expecting that would have eventually happened) the food would have been as good as last year and the service, once started, would have been friendly. My wife arrived first while... More

Went recently for dinner and enjoyed both the food (fresh and real Italian) and socializing with the owners. Guess being from New Jersey helped! Will go back...

I love this place. It's a real family Italian rest. We've been going there since they opened. THE PIZZA. You gotta get the pizza! My wife's from Jersey and I grew up in South Florida, where everybody is from NY or Jersey so we know a good pie! Service can be a little slow when it's crowded but it's worth... More

We live in the area and use Trip Advisor to find new or different places to visit. We had driven past Don Vito's many times and didn't really "see" it until finding it on Trip Advisor. I grew up in Boston and worked in Queens for many years. While not an expert on Italian food, most of my friends are... More

We visited Don Vito's to see why it was number 1 on tripadvisor. We left very impressed! The food and service were awesome! Our young children loved the pizza, my manicotti was great and my wife said her veggie calzone was awesome! I paid close attention to the other customers as they left and everyone seemed to be very satisfied.... More

I agree with JE (August 24) - if you think that this food was good you have not had good Italian food. We had pastas - the peppers with sausage was as close to Mexican as Italian and the carbonara was like a retail white sauce and was served over penne which does not work. I have long trusted Trip... My dearest and darling Lizzy – Despite my claim that I would not respond to your review I cannot resist - Your words make me Dizzy Ms. Lizzy. You claim anyone who considers our food good Italian has not had good Italian. Well a simple look at your other reviews indicate you haven't been happy with too much including another... More

This place is OK and nothing more. Those who think it's "great" probably have never had good Italian food. As for my dining experience, I ordered wine with my meal and got what was more like half of a glass of wine. I would have walked out right then, but the people I was with would have been upset. The... More

My Dearest JE - Thank you so much for dedicating your first review to our humble, reasonably good, OK family restaurant. We started with the sampler appetizer and the bruschetta was the best I've ever had. We had pizza as the main course which was good and finished with a tiramisu which was delicious. The service was excellent and made us feel at home. Next time, we're going to have some pasta.

This was our second visit to a great place. They treat you like family and the food is outstanding. We had the appetizer sampler. My wife had pasta with peppers and sausage and I had pasta with calamari and shrimp. Both dishes were delicious. We so enjoyed the conversation with the owners. We will be back for future visits.

My wife and I went to see if the restaurant lived up to its hype and it absolutely did! We had the fried ravioli (excellent) and split a pizza and a penne carbonara. The pasta was good but I think my taste for it was tainted by how mind blowing the pizza was!!! We ordered the Meats with ricotta which... More
