My wife and I came in fairly late in the evening. Our server immediately came to our table, taking our drink order and leaving a basket of fresh dinner rolls and sweet rolls, which were absolutely delicious! He did a great job with selling the specials and knew the menu items very well. I had the Blackened Chicken. It was... More

Oh my gosh...what wonder home cooking. The serving portions where so huge that I had to take more than 1/2 back to the resort with me. Our server was a wonderful person, who was very kind and took a moment out of here very busy day to actually talk to us and give us some very helpful hints of the... More

Saw it on DDD, flew into Ft Lauderdale airport and decided to go experience it for myself. Place is old, sat in the bar. The waiter was beyond attentive. I went for my favorite, open face turkey. Amazing! The turkey home baked was juicy, but it also had skillet marks. The corn was normal but the mash potato was clearly... More

We always eat at Granpa's when we are in the area. Great restaurant! The complimentary Danish they bring to the table are delicious!

Looks like a diner inside. Food portions are proportionate to the price. Food is good especially the free plate if danishs. I have been there many times. Usually for breakfast, this time was for dinner I tried the hamburgers and their homemade fresh patty it was very good. We will be going back again

This is a locally owned and popular restaurant and despite the location close to Ft. Lauderdale and Hollywood most of the customers seem to be local as well. The location is not in an area frequented by tourists, but it is only couple of miles from the air and cruise ports and worth the effort to seek out. The food... More

The meal starts with a plate of sticky buns as well as rolls put on the table. The night we (5 persons) were there the place was short-handed, so it took a long time to get served, during which time we munched on the buns. By the time our meals arrived, we weren't hungry enough for the portion sizes. We... More

Great baked goods. I like to go for breakfast and try something new each time. We also had them cater our Thanksgiving lunch at my office and everything was really good. Older place in an older part of town, but worth a try!

We stopped in for breakfast on a weekday, and were seated and served quite fast. Our waitress was pleasant and knew her job well. Others had posted some negative comments on the wait staff, but I believe you get what you give...be nice, and if they are busy...cut them a break...they are only as fast as the kitchen! The food...
