Best oysters

As soon as you walk into tarks you feel at home. You sit at a bar that is open to the kitchen it was awesome to have the interaction of the kitchen staff. We started with the conch fritters. They were to die for. We also had a dozen oysters. They were not only huge but very fresh and delicious.... read more

My family ate at Tark's 7 years ago while on vacation in the Ft. Lauderdale area. We loved it, and vowed to return someday. My husband and finally came back to vacation in the area in July 2015 and ate there twice. Nothing had changed. The seafood is still fresh, absolutely delicious, and relatively inexpensive, especially for the portion size.... More

The chicken wings are very meaty, so even the small 10 piece order was too much for me. Bring a friend or get a to go box. There's not much seating at Tarks, inside or out. I prefer sitting outside, inside is a little too cozy for me. If the wait person doesn't come outside often, you might have to... More

Definitely stands up to the definition of a Dive. The seafood is excellent , just not my kind of place. Counter service, chaotic, loud. Sometimes it's better to not see the people that are preparing your food.

I'll tell you what... I live in the North Dade/South Broward area and you can't find a place like this anywhere withing 20 miles. It's a little bit of the Caribbean right here in South Broward amongst the ratty "15 Minute" motels, the crackheads scooting by on their bikes, and the girls look for their next date on the corner...... This is a very small dive with limited tables and seats but the food is super fresh and the oysters are to die for! Reasonable prices and good happy hour offers. Relaxed and cool.

We stopped by Tarks on the drive home from the horse races on July 6. The place is unassuming from the outside and close quarters inside, but big on fun, flavor and service. The sign on the wall said Tarks has been serving up deep fried delights, raw seafood and gator treats for 49 years. How we've driven past it... More

The food is the freshest. You'll probably need to reach over someone to get your order, but that's cool ,they're mostly good olde boys The Clam bellies are awesome as are the Buffalo Shrimp. You basically can't go wrong unless you're impatient. It could only be improved by being in the Keys

The fish was fresh and reasonably priced. Service was a bit lacking (they forgot to bring me part of my meal, which they did quickly remove from the check), but they were swamped. Very casual with limited seating.

I've been in Miami two months now and I am getting tired of the overpriced mediocrity when it comes to shellfish. Finally I just googled "Best Oysters in Miami" and this hole in the wall came up... well what the heck, why not check it out... Truly worth the visit. Yes, it is a hole in the wall along a... More
