Description: Elegant, hand crafted foods and boutique wines are the focus in this relaxed and intimate 40 seat dining room, just north of Tampa in charming Dade City. A winding bucolic drive through orange groves, hills and cattle ranches, this is an unexpected haven away from congested cookie cutter Florida. The Pearl in the Grove is a European bistro with Panhandle roots and definitely an experience worth the drive out of town. The experience is many things at once: ancestral Southern with hints of Creole, a dash of Western European simplicity, easy Sunday suppers served family style, luxurious, leisurely Brunch. Wine pairing dinners. Craft and local beers. Simple ingredients feel sophisticated but fun and effortless, like the New Orleans heritage jazz that plays in the background. The Pearl eschews trend and tricks in favor of a more refined nod to cooking that’s never pretentious, just honest. An unwavering commitment to local farm produce and regional ingredients like local cheeses, hand picked organic micro greens, kumquats from the grove on the corner and local beef and pork from heritage stock-- Proprietors Curtis and Rebecca Beebe know great food and their passion is evident. Informed by world travel as military kids, they both learned techniques from their mothers. Cook with what’s indigenous to the area in the regional style. Chef Curtis watched his mom forage and cook with local produce from Northern Africa, Germany and Japan. Rebecca’s sharp eye comes from a long line of low country Alabama fishermen, farmers and restaurateurs. This sparked a well balanced culinary marriage. When settling back into the towns that arc the Gulf of Mexico, they started to hone their unique regional style and wanted to bring it to Central Florida. Louisiana to Apalachicola. Rural, not country. Leisurely, not casual. Accomplished, reserved service. Genuine hospitality. Careful cooking with lots of panache. Served in a warm and intimate dining room. Just right.

We have been here several times for dinner, and enjoyed it every time! The "Geeno" (sp?) chips were warm and delicious! The Shrimp Creole is delightful, and the pasta dishes have been excellent. The food is always fresh and interesting. Love the kumquats in the salad! The owners are lovely hosts, and we have always been greeted warmly and treated... More

Love this place and everything about it--the food, the staff, the concept, the atmosphere. Love the "family style" service on Sundays where you always meet interesting folks and walk away ready for a Sunday afternoon nap because you're so stuffed full of goodness. Definitely a little gem of a retaurant out in the middle of nowhere that's always worth the... More

Pearl in the Grove has excellent TA reviews. Usually we find these reviews reflective of our experience. This was not the case with the Pearl. It is an out of the way old house, but charming enough. We had called and spoken with the owner/hostess and she was great. In fact, she seated and welcomed us and was obviously very... More

I'm very sorry we missed your expectations..our goal is to give every customer an excellent experience but we obviously missed the mark in your case. Rather than address each of your detailed points, I'll say that we'd have been happy to replace any unsatisfactory item at the time. At the very least, I'd never expect you to pay for a... More

I found The Pearl online as I was looking for a place to have the rehearsal dinner for my son's wedding. Our group would be small 25 - 30, so it appeared this restaurant might be able to handle our party. My son and his fiance decided to go for dinner and check it out. They loved the restaurant--the food,... More

After talking about it for over a year, we finally made the trek from Clearwater to Dade City for a meal at Pearl in the Grove. We’re just all sorry we didn’t do it sooner. One of us is a serious foodie and terrific chef herself, one is a vegetarian, and the others of us just like good grub. We... More

Our first visit was for dinner on Saturday night. The interior is charming, and the restaurant feels warm and inviting. The menu offers something for everybody - fish, steak, vegetables, pasta, and more, as well as off-the-menu specials. Choosing isn't easy! Among the 4 of us, we had pappardelle, grass-fed steak, roasted chicken, and shrimp creole, along with a few... More

My mother in law first read about Pearl in the Grove in a magazine and we decided to venture there from Lakeland based on the review. SO glad we did. Its just amazing! The owners and staff are really wonderful, the food is over the top original and "clean". I love that they support local farmers and the freshness of... More

Tuck away in rural Pasco County, Florida is a real gastronomic gem. Open only for dinner & Sunday the fresh, but innovative dishes are each a delight. And OH, the desserts are fabulous. Meals are served family style with a pre-determined appetizer and salad of the day, followed by 2 entrees. Everything is homemade that day and it is all... More

Management response:

Hi Sherry! Thanks for the kind words! We love hearing from our customers but just want to clarify one thing: Family style fixed menus are ONLY on Sundays or for special group meals...otherwise you can see our current menu on the website. Thanks again and hope we see you soon, Curtis More
