We have come to Bradenton for many years and discovered Cortez Kitchen last year. We eat there once a week now because the seafood is so fresh and tastes great. The only downside is that it is an open air restaurant and they allow smoking. The décor is far from fancy but the food is fabulous. We have enjoyed watching... More

If you are going to Bradenton Florida or Sarasota experience local life at the Cortez Kitchen. Excellent food, more fresh scallops than you can eat, and friendly neighbors to welcome you to the island!

If you are looking for great lobster and fresh stone crabs, we found it. Excellent. It is a hole in the wall and you will be served beverages, including wine, in plastic cups. Right at the steps of the Cortez docks. Had some great entertainment, guitarist who was very good, we enjoyed. This is a very laid back place a... More

Soft shell crab sandwich was excellent served with fresh coleslaw. Wife had the barbecue bacon cheese grilled grouper sandwich- also excellent. This is a great local spot and just a bit past the beaten path. We'll return for sure and give it another go!

This restaurant was recommended to us by some other guests who were staying at the same place where we were staying. We were so glad we took their advice to eat there. It is really nothing special to look at. It is at the end of the boatyard. We ate on the outdoor patio. Very casual, relaxed atmosphere. Our waitress... More

This is a hidden gem that has been here forever and worth stopping for a grouper sandwich. It is a bar and grill atmosphere and has live music on the weekend. Great place to grab a quick bite for lunch or dinner.

My girl friend and I were at the Florida maritime museum and walked down the block stumbling into this awesome place! It was Saturday night and there was a rocking band Dough Deming and the Jewel Tones. Seems like they have music there often from the calendar I saw. The place was packed but with patience we got a table... More

Such atmosphere. A very special place to take your guests. Besides the food they just love all the action in the water fish, boats all kinds a native birds. Such a very happy place to be. You can see out on to the bay waters for ever. Sometimes a little fishey when the boats come in to fill the crates... More

Here you have the best of both worlds. You can have them cook the fresh catch or you can buy it to go. The restaurant serves fresh seafood as well as drinks. The fish market sells fresh fish and they are open all year round seven days a week. Don't go on Mondays to the restaurant cause they are closed... More

I get greek salad and lemon orzo soup almost every time I go. Love their spaghetti also for lunch special. Like lex and her father very much. Just old style diner with great greek choices and low key. Not pretentious at all. The rich and poor all go. Really like it. It is what it is.
