Mostly a locals place and very informal. Food is good, nice and fresh seafood. Not hard on the wallet either. We visit it every time we vacation.

Started out with a bloody Mary, which was tasty. The grouper sandwich was really a good size. Tender and delicious. The onion rings were average. The big surprise was their grilled red shrimp. OMG, it comes with melted butter and tastes like Lobster. I was thrilled. You have to peel it, but WELL WORTH IT. Casual setting. Great service.

Food is good. Music is usually hopping! Great place to take in the local color. Always have a great time. It has gained popularity over the years, and can be trying when it comes to parking and getting a table. Worth the wait!

More of a local drunk bar, very poor service. When we went they took over twenty minutes to be acknowledged at our table once seated. Waiter seemed inexperienced and stressed! Screwed up our order and when told tried to make it our fault, Poor customer relations, Told him we were leaving he said go then! We left and went next... More

Not a high class dining facility. A kitchen, then covered boat dock for setting. They have vinyl window covers and heaters if it's too cool in the wintertime. Large portions, food was very good. Especially enjoyed the "Royal Red" shrimp. Only second restaurant I've been in that serves the "Royal Reds". Dunked in butter, they taste similar to lobster. Saturday... More

We love to go to the Cortez Kitchen after a day at the beach or out on the water and have a Pina Colada made fresh and delicious at the bar where you can watch. The rum float on top is just plain yum! We like the atmosphere, the casualness of the outdoor bar and the friendly servers. We have... More

Soups were good but everything else was just so-so. Nice place to watch the fishing boats unload and the pelicans.

We had the peel and eat shrimp, sweet potatoe fries and hush puppies. The shrimp was very good,we didn't try any of the house specialty so I cannot comment on that. So my review is basically on appetizers alone and they were good but nothing that you couldn't get elsewhere. The view was great and our waitress was very good.... More

If you're in the commercial fishing village of Cortez, it would sinful to leave without sampling great seafood and drinking cold beers out on the dock, under the gaze of hopeful brown pelicans and white egrets. We found absolution at the funky Cortez Kitchen with orders of conch fritters, Gulf shrimp, and a couple of Stellas. A great place to... More

We went for the happy hour which consisted of $1.00 beers and half price chicken wings. Everything was excellent. The band was a little loud but that's what bands are for. Just go and have fun.
