One of the few remaining Miami locales offering traditional English afternoon tea, the Biltmore is arguably the most elegant venue, with its soaring vaulted ceiling, magnificent lobby and majestically mantled fireplace. The refreshing repast is served daily and is complemented with and elegant harp weekdays and music of an accomplished classical guitarist on the weekends. We are local and have been here multiple times. The setting is unquestionably beautiful, and service is refined. However, this does not make up for the just average food. We have tried several pasta items on the menu and they have each been mediocre. Today, my lamb meatballs were overly salty, and the pasta sauce was blah.

.... I would records Fontana if you need a switch from - always tasty - American diners in Miami and about. The quality of materials and thus the food served is awesome: we all four had the set 23usd menu and were totally happy with the choices from ravioli down to polipo, grilled pork and cannoli with ricotta cheese, all... This is a very good restaurant, if you're staying at the Biltmore. Otherwise, it's not worth the trip. We spent $50 on a cab, each way, from South Beach to see the Biltmore Hotel and dine at Fontana. Although the food was very good, the service was poor, which put a damper on the whole experience. At this price point,... More

We were looking forward dining here that it was a disappointment after tasting the food we ordered. The baked fish that I ordered wasn't fresh, it tasted like it had been in the freezer for a long time. The seafood pasta was ok. Service was attentive. Expect to pay $$$.

Filet mignon with pasta and mushrooms one night, really nice veal picatta one night. Both meals were fresh, light, and outstanding.

Let me start off by saying that this place is by far the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to! Miguel made this an extremely memorable event! Such a sincere and respectful manager. He came by our table and made sure we had the best service, great plates with perfect wine recommendations. Mr. Miguel then introduced us to our... More

A restaurant nestled in the Biltmore Hotel should be exceptional. Fontana was good, but not exceptional. We dined there on July 4th, and they were extremely busy, so perhaps it was not a fair representation of their abilities. The service was excellent. Waiters were attentive and helpful. The restaurant setting was nice. There was a limited menu because of the... More

We have eaten here several times. It is a beautiful romantic setting at the Biltmore. We had small plates. The angel hair (half order) was more than enough, but it was too heavy handed in a bland tomato sauce. A Caesar salad was ok, but could not taste any garlic or anchovy so I bit bland as well. Finally, there... More
