Have been in this place since 2000. It has always an authentic ambience, fresh fish for sashimi or niguri, an excellent quality of blue toro when available and an amazing 895 lunch bento box with options for sahimi, sushi, and teriyaki. this is not the creative fusion sushi place but a really good experience for lunch or dinner. My favorite... More

Read the blackboard for the daily specials. Today we had the wahoo tataki and salad with sashimi for the board. Excellent. Service is exceptional with a "homey" feeling. Definitely one of the better sushi restaurants in Miami.

Not being an expert on Japanese food other than Sushi, if what Izakaya serves is typical Japanese, then I will have to book a trip to Japan. Delicious food, friendly service and entrees well beyond your 9 to 5 sushi restaurant.

This is not a fusion restaurant, it's a true Japanese restaurant with fair prices, great service and amazing food. They got lunch specials everyday. Worth a try.

Real japanese owned restaurant. Very good indeed. Try the soft shell crab. Very busy during lunch time. Be prepare to wait a bit but the owner keeps all moving fast.

This is the best Japanese Restaurant in Miami. Great little neighborhood joint. Check the blackboards for the specials. Best cooked fish in Miami also!

I visited Izakaya last month and was amazed. The food was great... Very fresh sushi and several specials written on the board. The service was also very good. I think I just found my favourite sushi place in South Florida... I know it is different, but I actually thought the food here was better than Nobu in South Beach. If... More

Great lunch specials, but the A la Carte Menu is what IZAKAYA is known for. Consistently delicious over the years.

We love sushi, but are pretty careful about where we choose to indulge. Izakaya in Coral Gables was a good choice. Friendly and attentive service. Very interesting menu. Sushi was good, but smallish pieces and priced as singles. So, a bit on the expensive side.

I've gone for lunch 2-3 times, the first time because GAC (50 ft. away) had closed and the other times on purpose. They have combo lunch boxes, literally square wooden boxes with a salad, tempura veggies, sushi & sashimi combo and another vegetable with rice, cooked normally. They serve a miso soup, there are also other combos, all for $8.95!... More
