Lovely Carribean Cusine

if you like carribean food, you will probably enjoy this restaurant. The menu was varied, enough so that all three of us who do not eat red meat found something to order & enjoy. A surprising stand out was the appetizer of local cheeses which were very fresh & delicious. The seafood entrees were... read more

Ortanique delivers in the food department. I don't eat here often, but have never been disappointed in a meal or side dish. One surprising aspect is that you would think that this place is filled with mostly the older Coral Gables, stuffy, well heeled crowd, but the last couple of times that I have eaten here, there were patrons of... The atmosphere is very relaxing and peaceful, service excellent without being intrusive, my Mahimahi had a perfect texture and the mixed vegetables and sweet potato pure had a perfect tropical sauce on top, for a person that don't eat much outside at night, I was afraid I will have an issue with my night slip, fortunately it was not the... Nice, quaint place, they have happy hours and a selection of three course dinner for $39.00 The food was good but a little spicy for me. The service was good and great atmosphere, inside the restaurant looks very nice and you can seat outside to enjoy the South Florida weather.

Very nice atmosphere for family, friends, a special someone. For me the food is on the spicy side, but it was good. They have special prices like $39 for three dishes.. Is worth trying and experiencing a different type of cuisine.

Quick review: large portions of delicious food, Charming, friendly, professional service. Fun atmosphere. We did a lot of sharing for this dinner, and I'm glad we did -- the portions are large and delicious. We split the "small plates" of fish fritters (unfortunately, no conch that night) and short ribs, and then the West Indian bouillabaise. The latter was enormous... More

My wife and I have been to this small restaurant -right next to the Miracle Theater- and appreciate the quality of the food. The service is corteous and easy going, and perhaps the food that they serve could qualify as gourmet caribbean. It is one of the better restaurants in the Gables, although it is on the pricey side. But... More

I usually only write reviews when I have a great experience, and this was definitely one of those. Everything was delicious, from the appetizers to the desserts, but my favorites I have to say were the Mahi Mahi and the cuatro leches with coconut flakes.

Have wanted to go to this restaurant for a while and had been to its sister restaurant in Cayman and finally did to celebrate our anniversary. We were not disappointed. Did the whole experience: Excellent and interesting cocktails that draw up the flavors of the Americas followed by excellent choice of appetizers and daily specials, followed by dessert and wonderful...
