Mexico.... home of Talavera, the unique fine art pottery from the 16th Century, native of the city of Puebla. This genuine and refined Mexican spirit of the Talavera art sets the ground for the spirit of our menu. From the "Huarache" grill, a series of delicate dishes served on a corn tortilla base, to a variety of regional specialties from Sonora to Oaxaca, from Michoacan to Puebla, from Jalisco to Yucatan. Talavera, the art of a genuine and refined taste of Mexico.

Nice easy service, interesting menu and the classics done very well. Really excellent margarita to wash down my fish, and the beef tacos were simple and executed beautifully. Highly recommended.

I was treated terribly by the bar staff the minute I walked in the door (with the seat literally being taken out from under me). We visited this restaurant on May 5th (Cinco de Mayo), which I realize was a busy night for this particular restaurant. This was our first time there. I approached the hostess, and asked if I... We are in Coral Gables every 6 weeks or so, and so we like to find someplace different to go so we don't get in a rut. We were close by and decided to try Talavera. We're glad we did. We managed to beat the lunch rush by a few minutes, so we were seated right away. Service was good... More

I live in Miami but I'm from San Diego. That doesn't make me an aficionado of Mexican cuisine but it does make me homesick for something authentic...especially for Cinco de Mayo. Maybe I'm picky but a Mexican restaurant doesn't stand a chance if the cook/chef isn't from Mexico...and their chef is. My girlfriend recommended Talavera for the holiday dinner ;).... More

We were visiting Coral Gables and found this great Mexican restaurant by accident just a short walk from our hotel. Although we ate inside, there are a few tables outside. The night we were there, a mariachi band was playing. Our drinks order was promptly taken and tortilla chips and salsa brought to the table. The sangria was delicious and... More

Found this restaurant a block from the Miracle Mile in Coral Gables. Nice décor with an open kitchen and a Talavera pottery theme. Modern art decorate the main seating area, which is bright and has a high ceiling. Food is traditional Mexican with some Oaxaca and other cuisine influences. I asked the waiter for a recommendation on mole and he... More

Not having a great Mexican restaurant in AK, I enjoy finding gems while I'm traveling. Talavera did not disappoint. Our party ordered the mole and enchiladas and both items were amazing! We didn't find one negative aspect of our dinners. Very authentic Mexican food. The margaritas were fantastic as well. The blue dinner plates and silver placemats were gorgeous. Definitely... More

Somewhat limited for time, we were recommended to this restaurant for the quality of the Mexican food and the very good service and we were not disappointed. Although the restaurant was very busy they managed to find us a table for ten - we explained that we only had a maximum of an hour to enjoy lunch and they served... More
