Description: Mexico.... home of Talavera, the unique fine art pottery from the 16th Century, native of the city of Puebla. This genuine and refined Mexican spirit of the Talavera art sets the ground for the spirit of our menu. From the "Huarache" grill, a series of delicate dishes served on a corn tortilla base, to a variety of regional specialties from Sonora to Oaxaca, from Michoacan to Puebla, from Jalisco to Yucatan. Talavera, the art of a genuine and refined taste of Mexico.

We have been here before twice. And both times were very good. So our expectations were high and we were not surprised that we had a fantastic meal again! I especially loved the huarache beef. My kids ate the tortillas with beef and they loved the quality of the beef. We will definitely be back.

Have been at the restaurant many times since it first opened. The last two time the food has declined. The last time, they were out of a number of things on their menus! Concerned Diner.

Did I mention it was really good? While some may feel the need to pull up their credentials and suggest they know authentic Mexican I do not. I have eaten in various locations numerous times in Mexico but I cannot tell authentic from faux. But this I can tell you: the service is excellent, the people are friendly, and the... More

I live 4 blocks away, I've lived in the area for 5 years now. I come to Talavera atleast once every other week. Their Guacamole and Queso Fundido is spectacular. They are awesome moles and if you're into Fillet, Get the Don Guillermo. Highly recommended **** Can't go wrong. Their amibitious Margarita is one of the best drinks ever, only... More

Last week I went with some of my coworkers to celebrate a birthday and loved the place and the food. I had their lunch special for $13 which included homemade salsa and chips, agua fresca drink, and for the entree I had the Grilled Fish Huarache (highly recommend it) and for dessert their paleta helada (ice cream on a stick).... I went to Talevera in Coral Gables for the first time and the experience wasn't the best. The waiter didn't gave us options or suggestions even thou we asked him. We tried to ask more about the menu but he wasn't in his best mood. We ended asking for a Huarache and "Street Tacos"... I know my food, I am... More

But the rest of the food was poor. Priced as a high end restaurant, you wouldn't expect greasy and salty taco's. Also why doesn't the restaurant let you mix and match taco's - who wants 3 of the same Taco? Average and over-priced

The Restaurant is beautiful and the location great ,but the service is lacking. This is not Tex-Mex .....this is the real thing so don't expect everything to be covered in cheese. I found the food delicious , but my wide did not care for the seasoning. The staff were friendly once we got their attention and the food arrived quickly... More

When Talavera opened in the Gables several years ago, it made a splash. Good food, good prices, good service. It had been a mainstay, go to restaurant when the family was in the mood for Mexican. Our last few visits were marked by a steady decline, notably in service but to some extent food. The service was nothing but chaotic... More
