Mexico.... home of Talavera, the unique fine art pottery from the 16th Century, native of the city of Puebla. This genuine and refined Mexican spirit of the Talavera art sets the ground for the spirit of our menu. From the "Huarache" grill, a series of delicate dishes served on a corn tortilla base, to a variety of regional specialties from Sonora to Oaxaca, from Michoacan to Puebla, from Jalisco to Yucatan. Talavera, the art of a genuine and refined taste of Mexico.

Not having a great Mexican restaurant in AK, I enjoy finding gems while I'm traveling. Talavera did not disappoint. Our party ordered the mole and enchiladas and both items were amazing! We didn't find one negative aspect of our dinners. Very authentic Mexican food. The margaritas were fantastic as well. The blue dinner plates and silver placemats were gorgeous. Definitely... More

Somewhat limited for time, we were recommended to this restaurant for the quality of the Mexican food and the very good service and we were not disappointed. Although the restaurant was very busy they managed to find us a table for ten - we explained that we only had a maximum of an hour to enjoy lunch and they served... More

There was nothing to complain about here; from the moment we sat down to the moment we left everything was perfect. My only regret is not having another chance to eat here during this stay.

Went for dinner and reserved with Open Table. We were seated right away . Atmosphere truly beautiful, from the blue pottery plates to the lighting. I had one of their pork dinners and it was outstanding, super juicy and just the right portions. My husband had one of their mole dishes with lamb. Since most moles are all different we... More

A different take on Mexican food. This is not your Tex Mex restaurant. They have superb décor with use of blue pottery and silver placemats. One of our guests who was leery of Mexican food wanted to order tacos. The waiter said he didn't want our guest to leave without trying something local and would like him to try something... More

We all had the huarache beef medium and it was superb. For my guests it was the 1st time but they loved it the same way i did. The taste is an explosion because of the feta, sauce and the meat. Just go there!!

Thank you, Trip Advisor, for leading us to this gem. We are Mexican food snobs, being New Mexicans living in Texas. Run of the mill, lowest common denominator does not cut it. Talavera is the real deal: authentic, fresh, creative without being pretentious. The red salsa alone is worth going for. Everything we had was delicious. It's a smaller place,... More

Living in LA, I know great Mexican food and this place has it. We had 7 for a business lunch and tried many appetizers and entries and everything was wonderful. The green salsa was hot and awesome. Home made guacamole was great and the appetizer with melted cheese and chorizo was amazing. We mostly had the shrimp tacos and the... More
