Back in time

This spot is reminiscent of martini and Manhattan-sipping clientel gathered around a piano bar. But the food is excellently prepared and executed. It's nice to be at a restaurant that is all about fine dining and linen tablecloths for a change. Service is excellent. Definitely an older crowd but a... read more

We are fortunate enough to eat in fine dining establishments several times a week. We visit Clearwater frequently and have tried all of the local restaurants. This past week we had the pleasure of being waited on by a gentleman named Terry Woodward. We ordered a bottle of fine wine (they are known for having over 10000 bottles according to... More

I knew this place had bad reviews before we went, but I had to try for myself... We stopped by the restaurant during the day while we were out walking a couple of days before we actually had dinner there. I went in and asked to see the menu, it was pretty much what I had seen on line but... More

We enjoyed eating here twice on our recent vacation mainly due to the quality of the food and service compared to other restaurants near our hotel. Relish tray was complementary along with delicious banana bread and fresh warm rolls. Seafood was delicious as were the ribs and steaks, cooked to perfection. Unobtrusive service and a nice wine list. Piano player... More

It was our anniversary and we were directed to the Beachcomber by a helpful sales clerk at the nearby Walgreens. What a great recommendation. Formal dining with a casual beach attitude - I impressed my wife with "my" choice.

The restaurant is very well presented but we we felt the food did not match the decor. It certainly is not fine dining but rather plain. We ordered cocktails which arrived with no citrus, olives or basically anything. They were pure alcohol and undrinkable. The food was edible but just very plain for the price charged. The pianist was excellent... More

I have never experienced such terrible and unwelcoming service as I have here. It's clear that if you're not a "regular" then you are given terrible service. My husband and I were staying at the Sandpearl and so on holiday. Other guests were given preferential treatment as they were said "regulars". I wouldn't mind m, but the menu is small... More

When you first see Bob Heilman's you think that it is some stuffy place where you have to dress to the nines. There are people who dress up when they go but you are at the beach and most people are wearing shorts! I always wear shorts and a golf shirt and I never feel out of place! I had... More

Definitely an older crowd but a nice change from all the beachfront casual fare.

My husband loves this restaurant and wanted to celebrate his 71 birthday here. We arrive for an early dinner and were created quite warmly. Our waiter ,Terry W, was outstanding and he made the meal even better. We started with the vichyssoise, and the groper entree and a veal entree. They were both perfection. A special birthday cup cake was provided.... More
