I was not impressed with Cedar Key and not impressed with the Island Hotel. The food was overpriced, the wait was long despite an empty restaurant, service was inconsiderate, and the food was not very good. Walked out with a 3-figure bill. I was eager to leave Cedar Key partly because of places like this. Not a very family friendly... More

We had a scrumptious dish that was a 'special' that night: shrimp and grits in the form of a thick-sliced cake, with bacon onion gravy--and it was awesome ! Also, we thoroughly enjoyed 2 on-the-spot crab cakes (they weren't on the menu) that were no fuss, no extra fillers, just lots of crab meat and browned perfectly on both sides.... More

This was our last night in Cedar Key and we wanted to dine casual however but not a casual meal. The Island hotel with its bright, original local art pieces on white walls, the white table clothes and napkins and dark wood we had a good feel about the ambience. Richie our server was so warm, friendly and attentive. I... More

We have been coming to Cedar Key for years, but never ate at this restaurant. Now I see we have been missing some great meals. First I.will tell you this is a higher priced restaurant compared to others in the area, but the food is well worth the value. The Palm Salad a,signature fish was great. It had lettuce, Hearts... Located in the the Island Hotel - the oldest commercial building in Cedar Key - the restaurant is very quaint with excellent food and service. We ate in the main dining room, but their is also seating in the Neptune Bar and a room behind the bar for their limited bar menu which is not by any means limited. The... More

It's $11.50 for about 6-8 ounces of bisque, but let me tell you, IT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY! Hands down, the best we ever had. We have not been in the restaurant, just had a few Stellas in the bar, next we would like to stay in room #36, apparently a ghost likes to rub men's backs and tuck them... More

Try to eat there at least once with the family each time visiting Cedar Key and as always we weren't disappointed....Wife's soup and salad were great and my son and I both enjoyed Filet's that were mouth watering. Good service, full bar and conveniently located in downtown Cedar Key.... Let's you feel like dressing a little more dress casual than... More

We had dinner with friends at the Island Hotel Restaurant. Dinner here is a half notch more formal than at the other places in town. There is an interesting menu with a lot of local flavor. Seafood specialities dominate. There is a funky, excellent hearts of palm salad which dates back 5 decades whose center of focus is peanut butter... More
