I had printed the menu ahead of our trip and knew it to be pricey, so we decided to go for the Monday night special. It was really worth the money. I had the crab cake and my SO had the grilled shrimp (both for $11.99). Each were served with vegetables and potatoes, as well as individual loaves of bread.... more

It is right on the beach and has an outdoor covered patio where you can eat. The location is great, the food and service were pretty good, and the prices were a little high but not too bad. There aren't many good places to eat in Cedar Key and you can do a lot worse than this one. more

My wife and I have eaten here every time we have visited Cedar Key and have never gotten a bad meal. They specialize in fresh seafood which is always excellent. Prices are not the lowest for the island, but are reasonable considering the Island Room is a step up from most of the restaurants here. Service has not always been... more

We decided to try the Island Room for the second time in many years for our anniversary. We should have known there was a problem when we were greeted by a gentleman server who was drenched in sweat and the AC felt like it may not be working. We were seated in our window seat as requested. The AC got... more

We had a great location right on the water. Food was the best. Ate a "low-country boil", which was $5 cheaper than that at Tony's Seafood and, we felt better tasting, and less work to eat. The salad was perfect, and the creme broulee to die for. Highly recommended! more

We visited for Sunday Brunch on Memorial Day weekend, 2008. We had a reservation for the opening time of 10:00 am. They were not crowded, and we had our pick of outside waterfront tables, literally right on the "beach". The waitress was very friendly and competent. She gave us good advice on the food; both the Crab Benedict and the... more

The Island Room is a gem in the rough! Cedar Key is famous for its rustic atmosphere. It is what makes it a special place. There are no chains or franchise businesses or restaurants in the community. Most everything there is either locally owned or at least locally operated. The Island Room is a great restaurant in most every respect.... more

We had heard great things about the Island Room Restaurant. So when we went the first time, we thought maybe the "waitress had a headache!". She told us that there were no seconds of the bread until everyone had received "firsts!" We didn't realize there was a shortage on "bread"... So we just had salad and soup and left. The... more
