Just What I Was Looking For

Ten years ago had some fried oysters at Cedar Key, and came back to this lovely spot to relive that day. Upstairs at Steamers at the bar, a dozen fried oysters and a couple beers ... was great. Nice day, nice ocean view & fun.

Raw bar/band on the water is a bit schizophrenic. If you want to talk with friends, forget it. Great band is too loud for that. If the band makes you dance, forget it. There is no dance floor. Perfect setting and ambiance, but this place hasn't settled its identity.

Over looking the gulf. Beautiful views and sunsets on the deck. Cold beer and margaritas. Great fresh seafood. Shrimp, scallops, oysters all good. Blackened Mahi Mahi was spicy and delicious. So good we had to go back.

We are native Floridians visiting for the first time. I read reviews on Steamers and chose it for lunch. My husband had grilled grouper sandwich with French fries. I had the lobster roll. The rolls were fresh and a nice proportion to the filling. I was concerned the lobster roll would be too wet but it had fresh celery. We... More

The two of us ate a dozen, baked oysters, a bowl of clams, some bread and shared a salad, had a few adult beverages (happy hour 4-7) and our total bill with a 20% tip was $54.00. Amazing views, very small outdoor patio.

We were in Cedar Key for 4 days and ate here 3 times. The atmosphere is casual, the service is very friendly, and the food is tasty. The Clam Bowl was my favorite, like a meuniere, with lots of garlicky broth and tender clams. The clam chowder had great flavor and was full of clams, but wasn't really a chowder... More

The Clam Bowl was wonderful as were the Fish Tacos, Fried Oysters and Shrimp Tacos! All done to perfection!! And as I mentioned in the title the Garlic Fries are as good as ANY fries we have had! Quick service too!

Tried the clam dip and I have to say it was great! The atmosphere was good, staff knowledge and attentiveness okay, the speed of bartender was slow but I guess they were a bit busy, the general impression of the restaurant 'very nice'
