Good Restaurant, Great View

We visited this restaurant with a group of friends while on a visit to the quaint town of Cedar Key. As we were the last to arrive, I'm not sure how the group was greeted. Our waitress was very friendly, upbeat and knowledgeable. When I ordered the clam chowder, which was quite good, I noted... read more

Awful. Dirty. Inattentive wait staff/bartenders. For a place called "Steamer's" you would think that the seafood, the steamer's would be great. Not so.

My wife and I visited recently and it wasn't horrible nor was it wonderful. I had the pan seared grouper, which was very fishie tasting and didn't seem that fresh. My first side was the garlic parmesan fries which were tasty and a very generous portion. I'm a big eater and didn't finish half of them. My second side was... More

We went off season/July so it was very quiet in Cedar Key. We chose Steamers because of the location and the reviews and they served oysters! Farm raised oysters off season were good, nothing crazy good, but good since we wanted oysters and it was off season. Beer was cold, view was good and oysters hit the spot (crackers were... More

We travel to Cedar Key every couple of months to decompress from city life and have dined here 6- 8 times in the last year. Every meal has been spot on with our favorites being the clam bowl (heavenly broth) , the Mahi sandwich (ciabatta bread), and the local fried oysters that while small make up for it with their... Our first trip to Cedar Key, we found it disappointed, small coastal town with no much to do or see. We stopped at the Steamer Clam Bar & Grill for lunch. As we walked in, we noticed a sign saying; "seat yourself". We found a table by the window with the view of the gulf. Our server; Kirstie, came by... More

Our server was amazing. I wanted to remember her name, but alas...perhaps too much to drink? The fish dip was super good too - our friends ordered two orders. Live music and an upbeat staff were much of what made this a great place to visit for lunch.

The food was really excellent! Every single dish was absolutely fresh and made with extraordinary recipes! Had to keep going back. The restaurant is on the water, so romantic! Service was good and cheerful!

Found on trip advisor and was recommended by multiple locals. The staff was very friendly and the food was amazing. We will definitely return to this restaurant on our next visit.
