A few lines to introduce myself. My name is Al Whelan, I am from Boston and worked at a famous "waterfront dive" known as Kelly's Landing. A seafood business in a Catholic community with lines down the street, literally. I worked there for five summers and enjoyed every minute of it. My first date with the counter girl (she couldn't resist a man in a paper hat), my first kiss, etc. One rule was demanded, cooking with clean oil! In those days it was lard! Today we use canola oil both on the grill side and on the fry side... Most of our dinners are on the grill side. Fish shrimp, scallops, steaks, ribs, chicken and pork round off our menu. Our Irish Connoli is like a little piece of heaven and our homemade bread pudding is to die for. Both topped off with sweet whipped cream. We've added a 6000 square foot patio surrounded by trees. A truly private and romantic spot. Also some added features such as, a basketball cage, beer pong table and corn hole court.

Pet-friendly, owner-friendly, good food, nice atmosphere

I have been to this restaurant 3x now and will be back. I enjoy the atmosphere of their outdoor patio. Al and/or Tim made each visit special. If you bring your dog they will give him/her a bowl with ice and water. Al even fed "Buddy" a French fry! One time we had young kids at our table and... read more

What a great place to eat. The staff are real people that will sit down and talk with you. Al is a great person that believes in taking care of his customers. The atmosphere is awesome for adults or kids. We are from Texas and they helped us plan our whole trip. Wish We were local so we could come... More

My rating last year was a four but it is definitely a two now! I would be cautious when eating here. Food is plentiful however I question how fresh it is. Wait staff appears to be pulled off the street as required and do not understand the menu or what is available. As usual, the owner is friendly but might... More

The food was ok it wasn't anything special. There's no air conditioning so it was really hot. The fans that they did have we're pointless they were just blowing hot air. The server kept bring us samples which was cool but we just wanted what we ordered. When we were done eating we had to sit in this uncomfortably hot... More

Well the GPS landed us at the restaurant on the corner of the main street, but we followed the parking lot around to the back street and found Moorings. I went in to do the "recon" and was promptly offered a sampling of the fish of the day and fried alligator (both of which were yummy.) The waitress even brought... More

We had a wonderful dinner last night at New England Moorings. Fun atmosphere and great service by Lyndsay. The fried shrimp was meaty and delicious. The crab cakes and steamed shrimp were equally as good. We will definitely return!

A friend who lives in Cape Coral brought us here for dinner and what a wonderful time we had. They brought out toys for the kids to play with while we enjoyed our drinks and a visit from the owner, who's quite a character. The food was terrific. We'll be coming back next time we're in Cape Coral.

Our first visit will not be our last. A fun resturant tucked away on a back street in Cape Coral, FL. The food was delicious and the staff outstanding.
